Why do they want to take away our freedom to choose our private SD flexibility ?

whythree, 01 Aug 2015Why do people want the note to keep getting bigger and bigg... moreKeeping the dimension of the phone as compact as possible and making the display bigger isn't a bad thing by any means. Note 3 and Note 4 could easily be carried with one hand, so having a little bigger screen on Note 5 would be widely appreciated.

Also when you have a display as good as this, then you will like to have a bigger display. This isn't Motorola or LG, no one would be bothered with those third class display panels, big, small, doesn't matter.

Recently bought a Lexar 128 gb sd card. It's so fast that apparently neither the note 3 or 4 can actually support the max speed. Who says sd card's bring down phone performance?
Disappointed in samsung for doing this. Note series are media phones.

Why not just wait till the Samsung Unpacked event on 13 August and asked them yourself why no sd slot. Only they can answer that. If anyone bothered to watch the whole event for over an hour to find what samsung got to say about sd card slot that is.

It's funny Evan Blass exactly tweeted, just 'no SD'. I'm certain MicroSD is different from just SD which should refer to its larger form. Now, I wonder if he particularly said that just to stir up the smartphone community and to get the comments and 'wtfs!' going. Anyhow, I should impartially sponge such info (ahem, such tweet) until Samsung officially disclose official specs. But if it's just less than a week till launch, I don't think they'll be able to switch manufacturing their first batches of Note 5s from a zero-MicroSD slot to one with in time for its global release/worldwide shipping. Unless they did a 1-month testing program (like what LG did) before launch, Samsung might not be able turn time back now

After almost 10 years, you have to part with Samsung. No removable battery, I can accept.
BUT THERE IS NO SD CARD, NEVER !!!
It has already been only one company - Sony.

I know someone who was an iPhone user, now a 64GB S6 Edge user. He is clueless to what he bought - he doesn't know about Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, not how to transfer files, just plain spent $1000 on a gold thing because of the screen bending on the sides. Did not bother to read the starter manual, not even thought of downloading the comprehensive one to know what it does. This is the type Samsung is attracting - the clueless iPhone fan. Not bothered about memory expansion, not bothered about changeable battery, complacent about carrying charger, carrying power bank everywhere.

He only extremely liked the infrared remote control, but that feature is now not present in the Note 5. It's just a confusing move, Samsung.

IPS-Neo consume less power and offers more true black appearances with higher contrast, superior viewing angle, and improved production yield.

AnonD-418132, 03 Aug 2015Well, those "majority" can buy the 64GB or 128GB ... moreSooo sorry. I know the fact that the Note 5 with all these RUMORS so far have been stating all the limitations to memory expansion and changeable battery. It's a loss for both Samsung and customers- no win-win.

If these Note 5 rumors are indeed true, I'm guessing Samsung has come to the point where they couldn't surpass the Note 4, and so instead stoop don't to the iPhone crowd with glass back and no memory slot. Wow, I'm really amazed.

I didn't get the Note 4 because there was very little features I needed, coming from the Note 3. It just didn't made sense and I could do productive stuff with the N3 after thoroughly examining the N4. And now it's about that time I got some spare change for an upgrade for the Note 5 supposedly, but now looks like my money will be going to a Surface Pro 3(or4) 256GB. I don't think Note 5 will be making a better sale because the power user customers of the Note series will not be going for this tune-down iPhone-wannabe of a sorry device. It doesn't matter how good it looks - it's not versatile and productive as it should be. Good luck finding a 128GB version that will cost $1000+ - No sense in spending an absurd amount on something less functional than a Note 3 and battery degrading in 6 months down the line.

How am I gonna upgrade the memory after 2 yea... moreYou wont get 2 years usage out of the battery, Fast charging will kill the battery after a year. The S6 edge and S6 will be useless after 18 months and only fit for the bin, Samsung copying Apple but without any real quality or longevity. All the fan boys were happy with non-removable battery cos it had fast charging and now seeing the error in their ways. some people really need to wake up and hopefully this spec will finally show that Samsung need to be ditched on mass.
