While KitKat's share is marginally up, Jelly Bean has witnessed a downfall.

Anonymous, 04 Aug 2015Because NOTHING CHANGED!.. Anything can be done.. malware, ... moreYeah I agreed with you about those vendors who created phones almost every week. But buying Android? We're not buying Android, we're buying phones with Android. Android are not even for sale. The blame is on those vendors, created cheap phones with no future updates. Google always fixed bugs on Android. The only problem is there are too many bugs as there are no limitation on Android. Google should fix that too.

We can thank Sony for still upgrading some of their old products. My Sony xperia tab (first gen) was recently updated to lollipop. I was surprised that a poorly sold tablet would still be supported by Sony (which is struggling in mobile), while Samsung abandons their products after 1-1.5 years.

As a nexus user, I think Kit Kat was much better than Lollipop, but take that for what it's worth...

Google needs a newer better OS.

              tejas, 04 Aug 2015note 2 get lolipop update?no .. & it wont happen
but doesn't matter .. kitkat with touchwiz & s-pen rocks ... never liked the white/flat concept of lolipop .. kinda reminds me of win95
but if you still insists on lollipop .. try flashing resurrection remix rom but you will lose the awesomeness of touchwiz s-pen features

The takeaway from this article is the fact that one-third of Android users are on software that came out two versions ago, Jellybean.

                Amazing.

I'm skipping Lollipop mainly because of the bugs and glitches it have, and early Android M devices.

Why Android is so fragmented. That's why apple is king of flagship.

Anonymous too, 04 Aug 2015Why blame the Android? Why don't you blame the company who ... moreThey are all using android. And you can't catch them all.

Best solve everything from the source. Alot of time was given Google to tie-up loose ends on android and make it update proof. So the blame is with android.

                            But at least they tried.

                            1. The AOSP phones..
                            2. Nexus line..

But they need to try harder.

I BLAME Android for being so open.. SO open no one company or org can make updates fast and effective. See what the biggest Android maker is doing... A NEW PHONE EVERY WEEK / Month.. its saddd.

There is no rule book on how to make a phone.. SO who in the end suffers? WE END USERS. But Truth be told... the only one to blame is myself... for buying ANDroid.. that boring piece of device that is junk after 2 years.
