Nokia should bring something that smells of something big even if it is a feature phone! if Nokia really wants to concentrate on cheap phones, release a slightly higher end feature phone with QWERTY keyboard, WiFi support, Whatsapp support, 3G and looks something like BLU Samba W with 1500 mAh battery. i will buy it as my secondary phone

        Just a heads up people.

Microsoft owns Nokias mobile business. They bought the featurephone department.
So this is a Microsoft Nokia, not a Nokia Nokia!

I dont know what the deal did look like when it comes to featurephones.
If Nokia can ever start making featurephones.
Since these are not branded Microsoft Nokia in any way. I do suspect that Nokia can not start making featurephones in 2016. Then Microsoft would have made sure to start making people know that these are products by Microsoft. So that they could fully use the microsoft brand when Nokia gets back to the mobile industry.

Umbilical Noose, 25 Aug 2015You made a fair point there. Feature phones have huge batte... moreI remember sometimes having to charge more than daily because I played too much snake on my 3210.
          Batterylife has improved since then.
But most people remembering how good batterylife used to be in their featurephones, probably remember that from phones, that are not that much newer.

This one is specified to have 20 Hours of talktime.
And it used to be like 5 hours back then, if I'm not misstaken.
So perhaps these new featurephones, turn out to actually have good batterylife, and not just beeing so boring that you dont constantly play with them, but they seem to be almost that boring still, though.

Oh, what if modern smartphones could come with a real featurephone mode.
Ultra power saving on my K Zoom, does not make the display black and white (unlike S5, so it's closer to a modern featurephone), but it limits the amount of apps more than you would find in a featurephone even (they could throw in one or two basic games as well). I havent tried the ultra stamina on my Z3, though, maybe that is closer to the functionality of a featurephone?

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2015It have 1100mah battery. That is super huge for a feature p... moreThe 220 had as big of a battery. So did the 215. and 225.

I dont know much about todays featurephones.
But compared to the situation back in the days, isn't the screens as "huge" compared to what used to be, as the battery is "huge"? At least if we are talking color screens, and not meant for elderly/peopple with bad eye sight.

I would love to see some real batterytests with these kind of phones compared to high end devices.

                      But make the fight fair.
Featurephones usually lasts long, because you dont use them a lot, since they dont have that much fun to play with. And they are not constantly connected with mobile data. And not scanning for Wifi all the time.
Prices for calls used to be higher, and if I'm not mistaken often are in the regions where these sell best. The same goes for data.
So turn of data and wifi.
Use the device for a only a couple of minutes of talk.
                      Send some texts.
Do a calculation with the calculator.
                      Some basic stuff like that.
                      Maybe take a pic.
Probably 3G and 4G should be off, as well.
Then see how high end phones compares. First in normal mode, then in power savings mode, and then in ultra power savings mode (or stamina and ultra stamina, or whatever its called in the device).

I'm cusious to see how much better batterylife featurephones actually offers. And how much of it, is just user patterns.

well... my sister bought not long ago something very similar (maybe previous model) - all she needs is excellent battery life, dual-sim, send text sometimes and that's all. Why on earth should she bother with a smartfone which will offer terrible battery life, no physical keyboard and all that fluff and... will be more expensive... geez...

Nokia, 25 Aug 2015Why is gsmarena keeps comparing it to a piece of crap Micro... moreOnly if you go by specs.
There is not yet a cheap enough CPU that can handle android properly to make a phone in the pricerange of the Lumia 435.
Windows runs much better on such low end CPU.

Besides, you have to think a bit globaly.
Can you buy those chinese phones in most part of the world?
And are they as cheap as the 435 in most parts of the world?

But yes, the 435 has a lousy camera. The screen isn't that good either.
And although windows runs better than android, it will not be a champ with heavy tasks or gaming.
And batterylife isn't superb at all...
