LG's new wireless portable keyboard folds into an easy-to-carry stick

27 August, 2015
LG has developed what it is calling "the industry’s first solid rollable wireless portable keyboard." Dubbed Rolly Keyboard, the device folds into a stick that you can easily carry in your pocket, purse, or briefcase, the company claims.

@"membrane-jelly" guys. Pay attention to the picture. Doesn't look membrane to me. The keys look pretty much like regular notebook keys. There's a little bit of space between the base and the key itself. And the keys look plastic made, not rubber. My bets are on a notebook like keyboard.

I'd rather pay a little more to get a microswitched/mechanical style keyboard and actually be able to touchtype on. The difference is worth the price hike for me, and I know I'm not alone in this sentiment.

Its a piece of rubber with something that looks and somewhat acts like buttons, but feedback is next to non-existent. You literary can't type on it, only "push" areas on it.
This looks much more like a real keyboard.

This seems nice. But I've already seen locally rebranded jelly-like keyboards that cost $5-$10 (after currency conversion) that are really foldable and also waterproof

Good and innovative. You paying attention Samsung?

I'm waiting for my Waytools Textblade which is way smaller. However they are facing issues with delivery.

This is a good second choice if I had to choose.

Dovice, 27 Aug 2015Brilliant - except for one thing: It rolls the wrong way! I... morepeople are always set to argue... this rolls in a very reasonable and logical way, if you look any QUERTY keyboard has a keys layout for over a century, and it will be very stange to change that, even on-screen keyboards have the same patern, so, to fold as you sugest means to change that and then no one, even you will buy an ackward keyboard...

Another new innovation by LG. Simply amazing!

"premium" - hate this word. Typically used for "things you cannot afford".

If it rolled the other way, there'd be more rows to folds, making it thicker and the buttons more prone to damage. I want one of these!

Brilliant - except for one thing: It rolls the wrong way! If it's still long when rolled, then what's the point? It uses up the same length as a keyboard does unfolded. What they should have done is devise a mechanism such that it folds or rolls the other way into an area the size of a wallet. There are of course already keyboards like this, but no one has cracked the mix of foldability whilst retaining the feel of a full size desktop or laptop keyboard.
