Android only came this far thanks to Samsung. when hTc was the king of Android it was never this big. Well done Samsung I'm an Apple fan but good to see my competitor playing the game again.

Of course Samsung could easily be best smart phone company with the best by far phones, biggest sales and profit. If just stop selling their hew high end tech.

After reading the article, I think Samsung best to remain as a maker of components and display as its phones don't seem to be going to return to the stellar era few years ago.

Well yeah where I live the low end is composed of Samsungs. there were a time 2 years ago where people bought some sonys and htcs but now really no one at all here buys low-midrange htc sony phones and even the high end is pretty rare. the midrange is composed at around 95% of samsungs. the high end has lots of apple phones as a 2/3 the rest is samsungs. I used to see some other brands but now no.

Operating profit increase 79.8% is a big increase. And the 8.7% increase in shares is amazing. Thanks to Apple and Huawei doing so well. Keep up the good work Apple, you giving money to your rival.
