I am more interested in the 5X than the 6P.

That said, I don't trust Google's commitment to support the 5X in regards future update to Android like they would the 6P.

Consider this, it looks at the moment that the Nexus 4 will not be getting an official Android 6.0 update. This is quite disappointing considering the hardware in this device is easily capable of supporting Marshmallow.

The Nexus 4 was released in 2012, so granted that makes it an ageing device, yet the iPhone 5 which was also released that same year is currently running the latest version of IOS and will very likely get the next version too.

This leads me to have doubt's in regards Google's commitment to the 5X long term.

Arif238, 11 Oct 2015Well, you compared a car with smartphone in your long comme... morewell i understand ur point and it is righ nexus 5x is overpriced based that 5x dropped a few features that old nexus 5 had..it is weird ...when we update something we are supose to improve and not to drop...but this is my answer to u.... lg cameras are better than motorola cameras...in my opinion.... why well im lg g2 happy user..it is not the best camera but it beats the moto x 1rst and 2 gen cameras.... ..i have no tested moto x style or new device camera so maybe the cake could be in motorola side but lg is good with their cameras so we have to wait any way,..... nexus is faster with updates and no matter what google is forced to update a phone for atleast 2 years so u have phone up to 2017-2018 .
motorola is doing well not that fast but well with updates after being googles wife...
so in terms of updates unless lenovo change its mind ,,then we have moto for years too...
the main main reason because 5x is downgraded with a few features is because that nexus is not meant to compete with nexus 6p or lg g4 buddy thats main reason because dropped ois and mah battery... lets see if android m doze works like they say.

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2015Nexus phones are less expensive, its silly to say otherwise... moreYes we do. I don't understand why people keep saying we don't need more ram, since when has more ram been a bad thing? Even on IOS i've had messages appearing telling me to close some apps cos the device is low on memory.

Yes, 1080p @ 5.2" is excellent (higher pixel density is really just a waste of power). But 2 GB vs 3 GB of RAM is a big oversight. Then there is no EIS or smart burst, 120 fps vs 240 fps slow-mo, Gorilla Glass 3 vs 4, metal vs. polycarbonate construction, and 5 MP front camera vs. 8 MP. (Understandably smaller battery may also matter.) Added to issues with both phones (see below), and the drop in the 5X's attraction should be understandable.

              Problems with both:
              - evicted wireless charging (yeah, USB Type-C is nice, but Nexus devices have a history of charger connectors getting loose from repeated insert/removal cycles: http://bfy.tw/2FAR)
              - non-removable battery (really? so you can guarantee the battery will not become useless after little more than a year with one charge per day? not likely: http://bit.ly/1OwMbmc)
              - no SD? (so the Nexus line is for showcasing the newest Android line, and Marshmallow has updated support for SD cards (http://bit.ly/1GElF3R), so why leave it out?)

                only lg nexus 5 also

Well, I asked one reason about why anyone choose 5X over Style But my mates gave so many reasons. But one single reason I was expecting that nobody answered so I am asking it again in more specific manner.
Is the price of 5X been justified for the hardware you get?
                  my main concern 2GB RAM
16/32GB Internal storage without the expansion slot.
and please don't give your crap answer that Android is optimized for 2GB RAM and all that , please understand my question first.
and for phablet/compact reason 6P is much more popular than 5X and even if you need a compact phone then I would z3C or z5C and even z3 or z5 is much better option for compact phone
and Sony and Motorola also support there device for 2 years even My Moto G 2nd Gen gonna get the Marshmallow Upgrade.
yeah we know Nexus device gets faster updates but these manufacturer also give you updates in few months and with that you get some goodies here and there.
Main thing is user experience and these manufacturer don't fell short when you compare big players like Samsung, LG , HTC
Nobody is noticing but Motorola and somewhat Sony is beating those manufacturers.
They may be slow but they are single constant in the sea of variables.

I will be choosing the Nexus 5X over the Moto X for several reasons.
                        1) phone size (I prefer the smaller size)
                        2) the fingerprint scanner (had this on my motorola atrix and loved it) and the fact that the 5X will receive android updates.
                        3) With the pre-order Google Play Music credits, it is a $300 phone.
I have the 2013 Moto X and it is an awesome phone, but I am ready to try something else.

Others may not like the fact that Motorola (Lenovo) is cutting off updates from devices that were supposed to have them for longer. (Moto E/X)
Motorola's customer service has deteriorated slightly (according to a minority on Reddit).
                            etc.

I would have but Moto right up there until a couple weeks ago when they decided not to update the carrier versions of the Moto X 2014. It's only a year old. My current Nexus 5 is two years old and it's rumored to be getting Android 6.0. Size is a secondary question with the 5X being smaller all the way around..

we loved nexus 5 for its top of the range internals. The crowd the nexus family is targeted to will not be happy with 2 gb ram and it shows, even though 2 gb ram is more than enough.
and the height of 5x is not an excuse for speaker placement. would have liked nexus 5 design with upgraded internals better.
