Canon has a system for the SLRs where the lower amount of digits is the 'higher mode' ie: 1D, 5D vs 7D, which I guess they're starting to go with for the M series

They released the M3 a few months ago and this M10 is a stripped down version of it. The M3 finally moved to a much better 24MP APS-C sensor yet they brought back their 18MP sensor to the M10, strange move.
        Their numbering/naming system confuses me.

What a joke Canon! Are you trying to compete with Sony's ILCE A6000/A5100 with your EOS M10 and with Rx100 lineup with G5 X/G9 X? If yes, you are failing with such specs in comparison to what Sony has to offer and if no, then why would anyone buy this stuff when Sony has better stuff in the same price range? I hoped to see some better competition!

The (PowerShot) G9 X is the cheaper of the two new PowerShots, because Canon doesn't understand how numbers work.

Hahaha. Critical hit! It's super effective!
