mfh, 20 Oct 201570% of iPhone users outside India buy iPhone on contracts a... moreTrue, you see overnight queues for iPhone and millions of iPhone snapped up by peoples because those countries the iPhone is on contract and based on the monthly subscription you may pay as less as Zero dollar for a phone. I bought my first iPhone 4 on a 2 year contract in Singapore and then every two year I re-contract to the next version. Also most of the flagship phones of the non Chinese company when launched are of same price range on contract but in 1-2 months prices start dropping. Apple does not allow the sellers to drop the price and maintains it till the next version is out. Good thing about iPhone is after 2 years you sell it you would get much much better price then a two year old similar cost non iPhone.
I currently have iPhone 6 plus and galaxy S6. Got iPhone on contract and bought S6 on the week it was released paying similar cost of an iPhone 6. Now S6 prices already dropped $100+ by the company in less then 6 months. After 2 years I maynot even get $50 for the $1000 GS6.

Peoples needs are evolving faster than ever before, year after year survey's show us how consumer behaviour is adapting to new trends.

What was the "norm" 4 years ago in mobile is similar to what a 32" LCD TV was to people in 2000. People weren't "blind followers" for buying something that was the norm, and not everyone NEEDS a 5-7" phone, even today.

In India where we can get Samsung Galaxy S6 32GB for Rs. 33,000/-
Apple Iphone 6s 64GB cost around Rs. 72,000/- (2.2 times more expensive)
No matter who is an Apple fan... India is price sensitive market and third largest market.
There are many patrons looking at apple attitude have shifted to android.
Apple poor performance and worst attitude toward India.
