Wait, I'm confused, I thought the lower the decibels the better the service, the higher the worst? I have looked this up in multiple locations on the web and I feel I'm on the right school of thought, is there something different he is measuring or did I miss something on this article? The scale is -50 being the best and -120 decibels you are in a dead spot.

In regards to the antena issues, I agree. My sons have an iPhone 6 Plus and can't get LTE at all at home, I on the other hand have a 6s Plus and get LTE but can't leave the living room. So there is some slight improvement from the 6 plus to 6s plus. Now, my wife's android kicks our butts with its power off. It's a LG V10 and she Get between LTE and 4g everywhere she goes in the house.

Prior to my 6s Plus I had a Note 5 and I never had a signal issue. To be fair I live in a very weak/poor reception area of TMobile about -108 decibels in good spots of the house to -115 decibels in the worst areas of the home (This is where my decibels confusion lies), but it seems as if the Android phones have better capabilities to capture weak signals while the iPhone struggles with this. Otherwise, in strong signal areas I have no issues with the 6s Plus.

well I have had a trusty 4S and for no reason I got a 5S -- NO Service was all I ever got except every now and then. Admittedly reception is rubbish but the 4S coped manfully.

Apple replaced the 5S twice butin the end refunded me. What is th epoint of a phone you can't use for working?

    Absolute rubbish

Been to Apple Store numerous times and am on my third iPhone 6s!!!!! To hold a conversation on phone I have to go and stand by my front door! Or window to hold a conversation. I still have my iPhone 5 and am now going to ask for refund and go back to # 5.
These phones are pitiful. They did offer me another series which is smaller. Maybe I will try that and see if the. Size does matter.

Anonymous, 19 Mar 2016-90dbm is better than -100dbm you have it reversedno. in this case one has to understand what was measured.
and....it's the lowest signal level @ which the phone still functions.

Results of this test are huge surprise for me. I have a Samsung S5 and have terrible issues with signal strength lately. In fact, it is so weak that it is almost unusable on the highway or areas outside town where there are holes in signals. I was also driving on the highway and held in both hand, side by side, Iphone 6 and Samsung S5 and when I had flat, zero signal Iphone6 held 3 out of 5 points. This is crazy but maybe it is hardware fault in my phone, I don't know.

OMG ... I also felt going from iPhone 4s > 5 > 5s with in month, the reception just became worse and worse. Walking my dogs with the iPhone 4s I could FaceTime Audio with the entire planet with out a problem in the forest ... with the 5 some spots became no-go if I had a conversation running. Same with the 5s. Amazing the one function the iPhone should do well, it performs so bad. Think my next smart phone will be more phone than i... :/
Android? Windows? - well, if I have to start all over it doesn't really matter.

I am buying Galaxy S5 then. The best smartphone for reception. The first place belong to a basic feature phone so, no one will buy that. I always doubt the aluminum back cover on iphone anyway. No good.

What ever it is.if a common man can't afford to buy an iPhone then we don't mind it is premium or something.Samsung is even better than iPhone.I can say that at the end of the world apple won't sell an iPhone to common man.if its not affordable what is the greatness of apple pricing higher than actual price.

its is clear that Apple can only copy things. but only coping will not give practical performance. note the real RED BRICK is market with no practical performance...... ha ha ha ... ONE THING IS COMMON IN EVERY APPLE PRODUCT :- THE PERFORMANCE SCORE IN EVERY TEST....... ha ha ha....

Interesting article seeing as in Australia with companies using the 850 and 700 4gx band, the opposite has been found to be true. Telstra (the biggest telco in Oz) have deemed it to be worthy of a "blue tick" which denotes being a handset capable of gaining the best coverage possible. The first flagship Iphone to do it since the 4S. (The 5C was as well, and was fantastic in its abilities

I saw the Xperia Z near the top and stopped reading.

I had the Xperia Z. Both the iPhone 6+ and the Note 5 have fewer dropped calls in areas with spotty coverage that I work in. The Galaxy S6 was also not all that great for me.

The Xperia Z was the worst phone for reception since and old Lenovo I had and the only worse reception than the Lenovo was a Chinese S5 clone I tried, which was not really usable for anything. But it was cheap :-)
