AnonD-425833, 02 Nov 2015Another sad story - nothing wrong with HTC, they make great... moreYou cannot say, that it is only "marketing". Samsung phones are better by any measurable comparison. HTC are no bad either, but "second or third best" is not enough. In high end Samsung rules over HTC with not one, but 4 better flagship devices, from the start of the year M9 was blown away by S6 and S6 edge, which have better... everything. Furthermore HTC dug the hole for them selves by "not improving M8 offering", as M9 is not different enough be be called a new flagship. Essiantelly, M9 is key failure point partially, because of strong Samsung offer with finally good looking metal phone, partially because of their own unimpressive design. Then in the autumn this was further increased by the launch of Edge + and new Note... I admit there was launch of very disappointing M9+ nobody even noticed. Essentially, HTC failed themselves and all fans and that is result, not the "marketing". That continues on mid range and low end as well. Samsung A series are very good phones in the mid range and HTC don't have much to offer, especially when Chinese "high ends" have huge presence in mid-range, while low end dominated either by Chinese brands or Samsung J series and alike. The only real selling point left for HTC is HTC sense theme for extreme fans.. which is quite obviously not enough. In previous years HTC was able to be ahead with their unibody metal design, but that is no longer the case, samsung have better material and better design, which puts "fat" M9 to shame.

HTC nearly succeeded with the One lineup when it started, but some bad decision were made after that.

They should aim to redo the HTC HD2 success and formula.

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2015Do you think it is still a good time to buy m9 ? It may be ... moreYeah i'd say either buy an M8 or an M9, you can't really tell the difference in performance. The battery on the M8 lasts longer as well. Either one is a good choice, because at this point who know what'll happen to HTC..

Another sad story - nothing wrong with HTC, they make great devices and have a great brand. unfortunately like alot of other smaller brands they get outspent in marketing by Samsung. Bad for the industry, but I really hope they keep fighting

AnonD-60230, 02 Nov 2015Just Management? are you serious? HTC is literally useles... moreHi M.G
I think you are the useless one not the HTC. I hardly believe that you even had a basic HTC phone for you to give this type of a comment. As i believe HTC lack in good marketing strategy. They do not have dealer network in lot of countries and no service centers. This directly hit the worldwide sale of HTC phones. If we talk about the hardware and software, HTC standout from the rest of its competitors. HTC provide Premium quality hardware for its premium line and superior software hardware mixture for the entire product range. So far HTC proven the best camera quality in photos and videos (I’m using M9+) which far-ahead form other phones camera quality. (My friends love to take pictures form my phone due to its picture clarity.) . Therefore, the bad management specially in sales and marketing make HTC to experience the negative revenue in recent past. But, that does not mean that HTC produce poor quality products.

HTC is definitely the most pathetic company in mobile business!
I personally never liked their designs! secondly, for the hefty price they charge, what you get is a Phone with the most useless camera, pathetic screen (everyone knows how quickly htc screens get damaged), worse customer support than any other brand, almost negligible Software support from the company.. I won't even take a HTC for free! couldn't believe people are still buying their phones!
I have been a Sony lover and for the price, Sony is ages ahead of HTC, Stills sells less than them! I still couldn't get logic behind that!
I got a Xperia Z ultra at around 18k INR (260$ Or something roughly) and its been more than a year and my phone even now works like new enjoying lollipop! had it been a HTC or Samsung, I would have thrown it in garbage by now because either it would have already had a broken hardware or may have got Slower than snail! Sony charges because atleast their phone lasts!
                            die HTC die!

its because of the way how HTC engineered their phones. their stupid bootloaders that kept them losing.

Htc has a problem with their operating software. The camera often crushes, and they delay in releasing update to software. I've had the M8 since 2014,and one way or the other it disappoints. The phone only gets credit for its looks and appearance I guess, but for me I think htc as a company is not serious in this mobile competition..
                                I'm switching to iphone tho..

its competition htc should have taken steps to stand along with rivals in market unfortunately, they did not brought innovation to their cell phones. In m7 there was 4 ultra pixel camera but in m8 there was need of something like 8 ultra pixel or something like that. similarly they did not changed their design there was need of innovation in design too as they had to fit finger print sensor in right place like samsung and apple. When it come to competition we have to be so perfect and advance in terms of design and specs to stay in the market and to avoid extinction......

They found a winning formula when they came up with the One M7, took one look at it and I pre ordered. Unfortunately HTC themselves started to clone the phone. They used the same design in a couple other cheaper handsets, by the time the M8 came out the interest had started to fade and when the M9 came it looked exactly like the previous 2 models that was enough for me to switch. I never upgraded to the M8 as I didn't see the need to, was hoping the M9 would have the one. Now I use Galaxy S6 my first samsung phone ever and I love it. I suspect am not the only one

Lol they make tons of phones no one buys every year and wonder why they are losing money. Make 1 low end, 1 mid range and 1 flagship a year and they'll stop losing so much money derp.

Still do smartphones with low battery until brake the company... you did it great! -.-
