      This article is bullsh**

Those 2 extra buttons are the send and end keys, they provide no type of hindrance to the OS. You can put Windows Phone 7 here.

GsmArena hopes to create a massive flamewar in their articles for the 46th time. Duck and cover, delfect iFanboys stat!

Don't Microsoft want phone O/S market share then?!? If they honestly can't program a few extra buttons, they will miss out on pretty much every new phone out there! Google will be more than happy with taking over even more.

If the real excuse is that HD2 is missing some needed components, what exactly do they want! This is the best phone by far on the market! Surely they should have thought about this when designing it. Looks like they have the same problem on phones as they have had with desktop o/s's, they bloat the O/S so much the hardware struggles.

          Hmmm. Good ol' XDA!!!!

Yeah, that`s a pretty pathetic lame excuse.

I have never heard of having fewer buttons will be better: might as well use one button for everything (turn off/on phone, call/end, and etc...). Yes, it`s ridiculous.

I ain`t worry about it though.

First of all, XDA-developers will eventually put WP7 in the HD2, if HTC doesn`t provide a WP7 ROM upgrade.

Then, WP7 is really not worth the hype for now.

if this is true, then it totally ridiculous:)))
what a stupid excuse, 5 buttons!:))
who cares, anyone can use only 3 of them what's the problem??:))

Haha, this is ridiculous. Windows Mobile is dead for me. And with this kind of stunts, they won't succeed with WP 7.

I am very upset about this, HTC should replace the phone, I have only had mine for a few months and I am on my 3rd HD2.

Winmo7 will make to the other handsets but HTC !!! Vodaphone dropped the HD2 in the UK like a ton of hot bricks, I confronted HTC with this and they said they were not ordering enough. Seems like Vodaphone know what they are doing.

I required a phone with a large screen, but I am more than dissatisfied with it and my wife hates the site of it.

I am on a 24 month contract and can't replace it for at least 18 months,

If you wan't a bit of junk I have one for sale.

I was seriously considering the HD2 as my next phone. How ironic that the phone with, arguably, the best hardware around, fails on a hardware suitability test for a Windows Mobile 7. Goodbye Windows Mobile, I am now going for an Android phone...

                            Bad news indeed,

still I look forward buying the HD 2 (seems good enough to me as it is, without the upgrade).
It's still quite a shame though...

Simply put...5 buttons instead of 3 being used as an excuse by Microsoft is just not a worthy reason to deny so many HD2 owners like myself from the flagship WP7S OS upgrade...I feel so tossed around! Microsoft, really? I mean, where's the support for OEM innovation(ahem, something HTC clearly is proud about!!)?
