So....y'all know that the HD2 is coming to the USA ya?...ahem,

Dear T-Mobile pontential customer, even if your HD2 will have better specs it is still NOT good for WP7S OS upgrade. However, please feel free to buy it and run 6.5.3, our best Windows Mobile Classic release ever....hahaha on man!

Interesting indeed. And kinda fun :p. Apple sues HTC, Nokia sues Apple, Apple sues Nokia... I say apple finally feels androids breath in their neck. About time. And seriously; today, which manufacurer doesn't steal others innovations?

Custom ROMS. Its a Windows phone, based still, on the same CE kernel (albeit newer version). So head over to the usual sites and have a go at custom ROMs. I bet the same sites would have "leaked" WP7 ROMs months in advance of any official release and YouTube would have clips of it running on a HD2. Beat that other OS! Sorry for the OS bashing... Of course Microsoft may go Apple on the community and sue the community to bankruptcy.

That does indeed sound like Microsoft.
Complicating things in stead of... simply not.
And I was thinking MS would definitely score a mark.
It is nice to reckon such predictability on their end.
Pitty it is always of the most one-sided way possible: the weird and senseless way.
                        Is it a nerd thing?

Hey guys and gals. I've got a response from HTC about HD2 and WM7. You can read it an take what you want from it. I urge others to do the same. Contact HTC about the update. The more the BETTER.... Here's the response:

                          Good Morning Dwayne,

Thank you for taking the time to contact HTC America Technical Support via E-Mail with your inquiry about the HTC Touch HD2 getting a Windows Mobile 7 update. My name is A.J. and I will be happy to assist you today.

I understand how important it is for you to have all of the available information about software for your device and I appreciate your concern over the HTC Touch HD2. At this time, HTC has not confirmed or denied the release of Windows Mobile 7 for the HD2. This is because the OS will not be released until December of 2010.

To my knowledge, only one person at Microsoft has said on the record that the HD2 will not receive an update to Windows Mobile 7 because it does not have the hardware buttons to support it. However, there have been other Microsoft employees who have said that the decision to update a device to Windows Mobile 7 will be at the OEMs discretion.

Since the update will not be released to HTC until December HTC has not announced the availability of a Windows Mobile 7 update for any existing phone or a new OS version for upcoming phones. I encourage you to wait until we have more information available on Windows Mobile 7. As we gather the information and make decisions on new OS updates as well as new products that will support Windows Mobile 7 we will host these announcements on www.htc.com. I apologize for any frustration you may have experienced due to the equivocations from Microsoft.

Dwayne, if you have any future questions about your device please feel free to visit www.htc.com and send us another e-mail. You may also enjoy community.htc.com, our customer-based community, which has a myriad of information on HTC devices. You can also follow HTC on Twitter at http://twitter.com/htc, you can become a fan on Facebook here http://www.facebook.com/htc, and you can watch videos of new HTC products on Youtube at www.youtube.com/htc. I would also like to invite you to participate in a customer satisfaction survey located at http://survey.htc.com/worldwide/. I hope you have a great day and thank you for choosing HTC!

                          HTC America
                          Technical Support Representative,
                          A.J.

                            Microsoft is doing strange things

I remember when they announce VISTA they say this words.

why microsoft can not make software with less HW requirements like others (google).

This is absolutely redicilous! I am sure that HD2 will support WM7...since it is not a problem to assign buttons via software.......I think this is just all the Microsoft Marketing bullshit....

well.. the 3 buttons layout is there. the other 2 extra buttons are anyway for the phone app. so? what is the problem? this is something impossible, totally not doable and irresponsible from microsoft. they should remember that for win mo phones.. we also pay something like a license for the operating system. so if the hardware is there and is capable.. put the update somewhere on the internet and let me decide if i need 3 or 5 buttons, or none.

At this point and time I'm done with WM and HTC. I've been using WM phones and PDA's for around 10 years now. I've had to buy into the next OS everytime a new OS came out. Well that time is over. I will look to other OS systems and hardware manufactuers for my next phone... Trueth be told I was looking at Andriod every since SE X10 was annouced. I liked the look of the UI. I've even posted that on the site before. But I new the OS was new. My plan has alway been to update in two years. By then I think the Andriod will be alot better then, and better Andriod phones and apps will be out....

So the decision made my HTC and MS made my decision to leave easier........

I say go over to HTC support site and post your comments. I just did that, to let them know they lost me as a customer.... I'm sure they will get the message to who ever needs to hear it......

Its good that Im selling my hd2, this phone is buggy, has horrible battery life and winmo 6.5 plain sucks. Rest assured, this is my first and last winmo phone. Ive used the iphone 3g and htc hero, both of which are very good ( hero better than iphone btw).
