B&H already have it on pre-sale in the US, but have a ship date of Dec 15. If AT&T sell with no carrier logo, I'll gladly buy one from them.

It will not scan the face. It scans the iris that's why even in the dark place or if you are wearing eyeglasses it could still scan your iris with the use of the big IR.
