AnonD-463876, 01 Dec 2015Lol come on man you're smarter than that. Enabling is a very basic concept. Doing so Willfully is the problem. follow the logic train here. If they didn't know, it would be as if they were using a blackphone etc, but in this case the article clearly states that they DID know and that they ALLOWED it. Flip the switch and you get an organization enabling IS.

    seems immature behaviour

Whatsapp Web is a joke, it can't be used without active Whatsapp phone connection.
They said because it's an "extension". Lol. So much for a paid messenger.

I switched to Telegram because I can use Telegram Web, Desktop, or Phone freely, each is a fully functional app (not "extension").

I'm personally ready to shift to any Instant Messaging app, in fact I like Hike better due to its ability to send various file formats uncompressed.

But the thing is... Not many people in my contacts list are on other IMs, that's where Whatsapp's strength is...

I work for one of the biggest corporations on the planet, more specifically in one of their smaller departments for web conferencing. Everything the customers do goes through our servers, yet we have no idea if they´re discussing business decisions, cooking, porn or how to nuke the US with their secret orbital satellites...and we have no way to find out.

It's the police's job to stop criminal activity, online privacy should NEVER be compromised for it.

The irony is this is good publicity for Telegram, having the exact opposite effect as what WhatsApp was aiming for. Good job WhatsApp with this childish move, hopefully more people will switch to Telegram now :)

Dark Web, Blackphone etc lol... Anyways, It's one thing them respecting privacy, it's another when they willfully allow a terrorist organization to use it. When they do that they enable wrongdoing. If they were unaware it wouldn't be their fault, but alas, they knew. They allowed it. So screw them.
