Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X are now both $50 cheaper at the Google Store

16 December, 2015
The online Google Store for hardware has unveiled its holiday shopping deals today. From this point on, you're able to purchase either the LG Nexus 5X or the Huawei Nexus 6P for $50 less than before. It's not the first time this price cut applies to the Nexus 5X, but it is the first instance in which you can save something when buying a Nexus 6P.

It sucks that in Europe this phone isn't so affordable. Especially, when looking for versions with more than 32 GB as the price soon becomes very similar to the most of high-end flagships.

People become obsessed with spec sheet comparisons - it's like a non-stop d*ck measuring contest where a bunch of you are too busy boasting why yours is better and no one is actually putting it to good use.

AnonD-399271, 17 Dec 2015Samsung galaxy s6 is much better than nexus 6p .I dont know... moreThis statement shows clearly that you have probably an old galaxy s4 but for sure whether the s6 or the nexus 6p. I mean yes, the exynos is the better chip - and now?
So this may be a good feeling to have the best chip in my phone but the performance you feel in everyday use is clearly better with the nexus. Also the nexus supports 240fps slow motion and the galaxy does not, that makes no sense that the phone with the weaker hardware offers an option that needs strong hardware and the phone with the strong hardware does not.
But in the end I don't care about the chip inside, what I care about is what the phone does and there we have the nexus that just FEELS faster, it might be slower in some app loading times but because of its smoother performance and less lags it FEELS faster and that's what you want to have, a fast phone with a fast phone experience. And additionally the nexus features even more power depending features than the s6, so without knowing which chipset they use I would say the nexus has the better hardware.
But what I really don't understand, I had both phones, you had not, why would you say to me that the s6 is the clearly better phone when you cannot even know it?
I mean I sold the s6 and it was not a bad phone but I had my reasons to switch to the nexus. The main reason seems to be not worth to mention but I was really upset with how my fingerprint in the s6 performed. Maybe I have strange finger but all I know is that the s6 missed my finger a couple of times and the nexus just works great.
So for me and for sure for many others the nexus is just the better phone, even with the sd810. And no, I never had problems with overheating but I don't play games on my phone and I don't do any benchmarks so maybe I'm not the one to experience heat problems or throttling...

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2015There are plenty of reviews around on the internet of these... moreI don't quite follow your logic. If no website did a review it's because the phone isn't out yet. Considering every other website has done a review more than 2 weeks ago says a lot about the integrity of this website. That is the whole foundation of why it's concerning. And when you take a look at the trending phones of the week, 7/10 are Samsung J series' phones that clearly aren't top sellers on the market...

You place the facts down and piece it together it's no longer a puzzle - they clearly have reasons why they haven't posted a review since the phone launched stateside in early November.

i think ideal pricing of 5x should be $300 and that for 6p is $400.

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2015There are plenty of reviews around on the internet of these... moreI don't really understand why they are considered as overpriced, I mean they am but so is any smartphone in this price range. I payed about the same, around 600 dollar for my galaxy s6 that I had before and at least for me, the nexus is the better smartphone so when I look at Samsung I can find a lot devices that are more expensive and so I can find them at sony or apple of course.
So the nexus is not more or less overpriced than other brands phones.
And in terms of performance there is no other Android phone that can come close. The first Android phone ever with almost no lags... And as I said the camera, if you know what to avoid, is the best you can get so at least for me or for others that prefer real world performance and camera over design and features you would barely use the phone is not overpriced but the others are.
I would consider the nexus as the iPhone of androids, not having the best specs on paper but just works. And this just working as its supposed to be is a thing I was never happy about with my Samsung(s)...

Both phones are disappointing and way overpriced.

The 6P heats up way too much in use while the 5X is only a slight upgrade over the old 5 but comes in at more than double the price.

It's already dropping price and you still don't have a review for the Nexus 6P. It's become very apparent that other smartphone manufacturers are paying you guys to boycott a review until after the holiday season...and the worst part is you agreed. Lost a lot of respect for this site.

Happy huawei google nexus 6p owner that just sold its galaxy s6 some weeks ago :D
And yes, the cam on the nexus is better than the cam in the galaxy. A bit more inconsistent but some photos are on a level the galaxy just cannot deliver (and I made at minimum 2000 pictures with both phones, I love to make pictures :D)

It will still not sell. People will not pay $500-$600 for a Huawei phone when there are so many great alternatives.

What happened to nexus 6p review ?
