WhatsApp will support video calls in a few weeks, report claims

23 December, 2015
This year, the biggest new feature that landed in the popular WhatsApp messenger was support for making voice calls. Now that this has been implemented, it seems like Facebook is looking forward to the next thing it can bake into the app. And this could in fact be something that Facebook Messenger can already do, namely video calls.

They should fix whatsapp web first, it's ridiculous it cannot function without a connected phone..
I can use Skype, Telegram, and Hangouts on my laptop as standalone app, no need for constantly connected phone like whatsapp.
        Why whatsapp can't do that?

fazz, 23 Dec 2015ANyway these voice chat and video chat wont work in UAE. You can use 'IMO' app, but unfortunately not available on Windows Phone. IMO is much much better and stable than Skype for video calls.

Whatsapp call feature is actually the best than all voip services, they came late to the party but the quality extremely clear, and surprisingly doesn't require a high speed Internet to achieve a distortion free call.. like a real life phone call.. I have no doubt they will their video feature will sweep all the rest out there.

They need to fix their softwares. Currently WA stutters easily, even some times crashes my phone whenever "someone is typing".
Granted I'm using 2012 low end phone but I miss the good ol' WA pre-FB that was virtually lag-free.
