Anonymous, 29 Dec 2015It's pretty apparrent that the Apple A9 is not the best at ... moreas you can see, you buy a phone because it will serve you as a phone mainly. you are not buying the phone to run heavy task, even if you do you will feel it is not that much of your everyday work. how do you feel when you hold a slow heavy phone that last the same amount of time as you use the light and smaller battery. not to mention big battery charge longer time.

Apple A9 is still the best. You will not need your phone to run a PC Level hardware during multicore. what you need is battery life friendly at single core but still retain fastest speed.

I'll take Exynos 8890 over Snaodragon 820 for better integer performance that benefit things like emulators.

It has been the case in 2015 due to issues with the 810/808 SoCs, but before qualcomm definitely gave great efficiency and performance. This year, the added experience with big.LITTLE and far better fabrication process made the Exynos 7 the better SoC. Process for process, we'll see what's better come 2016

nick, 28 Dec 2015Not anymore, Adreno 530 is going to be better all-rounder, ... moreAs far as I know Adreno's problem is pixelling. But I need more research.

You'd better don't do any early conclusions as Mali T880's main improvement is improved shadering performance which is the arch bottleneck.

Anyway I don't think Adreno will outperform Mali in near future. But agree that Qualcomm goes hard to match the competitors. It's visible when you compare an uncompetitive Adreno 320 to Samsung's PowerVR 544MP3 with Adreno 430 which is very near to Mali T760MP8 and probably as fast sa PowerVR GX6450 from Apple A8.
