Not sure Apple with Beats together because quality and great sound,or because that brand. yeah, branded!!!

Crapple are doing everything to make people buy their products... Can't have 3.5mm jack as people will just buy other brands to use..

Also thought that there was a court case or something that said that ALL phone manufacturers had to have one standard charging port instead of all the different ones that we were having years back.. Guess Apple are above the law.. STILL..

And even apple signed to say they'd comply aswell

mir, 09 Jan 2016The best wireless headsets still cannot beat the quality of... moreeven if they do, let's say they make a lossless sound transfer protocol and we certainly have more than enough tech for that, also BT stereo even on normal SBC audio at max bitrate is hard to spot the differences, mostly dynamic range, I would be saying the worst part will be having friggin 3 devices to charge now. 2 earbuds, that totally wireless will need separate batteries (or if they did it full wireless power, get ready for a 4h music playback on the phone and dead battery), + the phone itself. 3 devices, + the possibility of losing just one piece of the earbuds.
Also, BEATS.... Rest assured! Sound quality probably worse than former earbuds but at 3~10x the price! And I bet they don't sell one individual in case you lose just one of those.
Heck I can imagine it falling from the year at the street or bus, and then get stomped on or just lost somewhere. And now even the cabled version will have a DAC and all. Great.

Oh well what am I complaining I'll not buy an iPhone anyway.

The best wireless headsets still cannot beat the quality of their wired counterparts. As others have said, this is just another ploy to squeeze out even more profit and milk the mindless people who keep buying into the apple hype.

                        Apple is Beats. Silly headline.

Apple wants to be 100% closed ecosystem and over-charge for everything. What is Lightning? An encrypted version of USB with dual sided connector. That's not innovation, that's restriction.

The same goes for the headphone jack. Apple just wants to sell everybody a new set of headphones (with an in-built bad-quality DAC, because Ligthning does NOT support analog audio) AND overcharge headphones makes for the lightning license.

Apple iPhone 6S sales are already slowing down and Chinese component makers are reporting -30% orders from Apple.

They need to find another cash cow.

Proprietary headphone connector (one ring to rule them all) sound like a good idea to them.

                                I have some serious questions...

1)"Cable" was always the best choice for the ones who need sound quality. And that will be always true. What happens with them?
2)What if users need better sound quality than "Beats audio" offers?(because beats audio are shit in sound quality)
3)What will be the actuall sampling of the transmitions wirelessly to the headphones provided? (should be at least 44000 hertz or something)

                                Apple....i mean....seriously????

I am a long-time satisfied owner of Samsung phone"s,but the fact, that is always annoying me headphones cables. If the wireless headsets really appear in the final version of iPhone7,I'm leaving Samsung's "clan".Off course unless in a meantime Samsung also implemented wireless headphones.

Ugh, finally got rid of my iphone 6! Good timing too, I'll never go for an iphone again unless i consider dying of boredom!

I can see why not one single tech publication has one of these ugly devices at their top position for best smartphone.

I like what P said here haha...that's so true. Samsung are miles ahead in terms of design and LG are miles ahead in terms of performance and customization. Why even consider an iphone? Oh wait, Kardashian or bieber just took a selfie with an iphone, so it must be good!
