maybe is too much to ask, but if by any chance the manufactures or research team read this:
* a small solar panel on the back could be use full when away from electricity
** a GPS application without connectivity to towers (maybe an electronic stars gradient, etc..)
I live on a sailboat and I could use a portable back up for those...

it is a big time privacy breaker
I think next time anyone makes any comment, look at pros and cons, I do search and rescue ops, believe me that this would help a great deal, as we don't always have a flir to our disposal, this will make it much easier to find the casually. So if people get it right to ban this phone, then you should not ask why we could not find your wife/husband/kid/parent or whoever, in time, if we do not have useful tools like this to our disposal. If they ban the phone, they will have to ban all flir devices..

With only 80 x 60 resolution I see no big issues with FLIR and anybody's privacy.

A great all round device with something really unique offered on the table.
For those who need those functions the price is not very high.
