LG won't be making a Nexus smartphone this year

The Korean company instead wants to fully focus on its own brand, and devices such as the newly unveiled G5.

Price+Feature wise, Nexus 4 was the best nexus of all. 2 GB ram, NFC, Wireless Charging in 2012? Till today some low end to midrange phones don't have those features.

If my nexus 4 had fingerprint and slightly bigger capacity battery, I would see no reason to upgrade, and we are 4 years down the line from the release. Think about it.

So in my opinion, Nexus brand truly belongs to LG. it works out for me, I will buy LG G5 this year, and then wait for LG made nexus.

But it was the FIRST nexus phone made by htc. And then there was a way different trend in smartphones. A huge trend was these HTC phones. But it is 2016. And HTC had very bad year in 2016. And Massive bezels are no more lovely these days. Also I don't like HTC current designs like HTC m9 and HTC m10 it is not my taste, but I love that they are not making 'op cameras' like other flagships do. But still. Maybe I am wrong. But just word HTC doesn't give me any patience to wait this phone as design might not be very good for me. But who knows, maybe HTC will do a huge step forward in 2016 after 2015 crisis.

                Huawei, done,
                Even Asus, done, but why not Sony Google?
                I badly want a Sony Nexus this year. We all know it will be a success.

Also, the 5x is currently €200 cheaper than the 6p where I live, so my opinion on value is exactly the opposite of yours.

                    Failure? Not in my opinion.

                      People who are so down on HTC making an Nexus phone don't know their Nexus phone history.

                      HTC made the very first Nexus phone, the Nexus One. It was also one of if not the first unibody aluminum phone and one of the first phones with active noise cancellation (way before the iPhone). In it's day, the Nexus One was in a class by itself. It wasn't just keeping up with the flagships, more or less, it was outclassing everything around it.

                      Then the Nexus line moved to Samsung for the Nexus S, which was just a crap plasticy phone that dropped the active noise cancellation. They followed up with the Galaxy Nexus, which was okay, but still nowhere near in the class of the Nexus One.

                      The LG Nexus phones were a step up from Samsung, but not flagships, just decent phones at a good price.

                      So I'm happy to see HTC make another Nexus phone, since so far they made the best Nexus phone by the standards of its time. And Google has been clear that they are taking more control over the Nexus design. I don't anticipate it will reflect the HTC M series flagships, the way Nexus phones have copied the flagships of their current manufacturers.

                      Going back to HTC, the original Nexus phone manufacturer, is a good sign.

                                Would be better if huawei and samsung will do the two new nexus phones this year. They're the only ones that did the nexus brand some justice.

I am not a fan of HTC design, because it looks like very cheap Chinese phone and I believe, it doesn't feel so premium. Samsung would work well or huawei. Or google should start making phones by their own... They they did amazing success with lg nexus 5 and now they skipping lg? why? Anyways, nexus are now overpriced in Europe so its worth to buy only in US.
