one could point out even iphone is a copy haha the name was first used by the linksys iphone which means internet phone. before apple came out with the iphone. the body was an exact copy of htc. one could go on and on about apple innovation. good luck finding something they actually did invent.

Also, the manufacturing process is much more difficult and technologically advanced than the design process. That's why cheap Chinese brands are able to design their own ones too, but they can't manufacture them.

Fingerprint sensor was on android phones years before apple got it (motorola atrix had it on the power/lock button at the top, I purchased that handset secondhand like one year before apple announced that they would add a fingerprint sensor on their next phone), metal body phones were already around when apple used that, android interface is not like iphone's, C'mon bro, any logic decision is now a copy? So, if I design a car with Gas meter then I'm copying all car companies? We are to blame all TV companies for using remote controls because one of them invented it for TVs, in that case only the TVs from that brand should use remote controllers.
I just find EXTREMELY STUPID to fight around who the he11 created what.
If only the creators or the first one applying a certain technology were the only ones available to use it only motorola phones would have fingerprint sensors, only nokias would use quick links, only the first brand that used infrared would still have it, only the brand that created LTE would use it and we would be many years behind in mobile technology.

Also, it was discontinued, they even discontinued the z series line. Now they're focusing on providing decent flagships, but not really top end stuff anymore. That's what they meant when they removed the z line.
You clearly have no idea about Sony.

I am not a fan boy of either and I am not a hater ...Apple has its + so does samsung...but lets be honest here....Android phones are like so Huawei best android in terms of specs/performance ratio...sony best spec/pricey and samsung who are only bling bling and nothing more....HTC had windows phones before bada so c'mon man...be real samsung its the apple of android market share just bling bling...Be objective you dont wanna swhich camps but you buy the iPhone of the android

If you see 6 or 6s, and new Samsung phones they look more or less the same with speakers on the beading and protruding camera and many features.
Now I feel its better to drop buying iPhone as it not original now, and its now No more Distinct in Market except the Big Big Price TAG.

And if we go by what you said then as I said, the trail doesn't end. You can go back to Samsung and Motorola for making the first mobile phones. It's a fools errand to be thinking about that.
Besides, 'copying' is good as it helps move the whole market forward. In order to protect innovation we have a patent system (that is broken) but that doesn't concern consumers. And again, where do we land on all the things Apple has 'copied'? If they didn't copy you would have an even more crippled os than now with very limited functionality. They didn't even have a notification tab without copying. All the services they offer like maps, news, and music are all 'copied' too. Simply put, the iPhone wouldn't even exist without 'copying', and if you wanted to, almost every single feature available can be called a copy of something else.
