11 March, 2016
Samsung sources both Sony and Samsung made sensors for the S7 camera. Is there any difference in image quality?

Clearly samsung censor performs better in most of the pictures. Somehow it's shaper and more vibrant.

Just look at the branches in the first picture and the last picture, Samsung's sensor has a better sharpness and more detail. Only sony fans saying sony is better.

                      Sony's a much better

My S7F comes with the Sony sensor, but looking at this comparison and the one over XDA I definitely would have liked to have the Samsung sensor. For me it is better in dark and also more sharper at times with a warmer colours. But whatever... I am not going to complain like many other people, both are great sensors.

I would have liked some extra detail in this post.
I was not there when these pictures were taken. Despite what I prefer in pictures, vibrant colors, lighter/darker shots, etc. Only the picture taker knows how well the pictures represent the way it appeared to the actual eye.
In the future please give feedback on which camera performed true to life.
                          Thanks!

AnonD-37985, 11 Mar 2016Dear friends. I am a Galaxy S6 user. Mine is samsung sens... moreI agree, Sony is always more natural and better. However, this time it seems post processing is very similar and results may end up being the same. We'll see once skin is introduced =).
I have the S6 with Samsung's sensor, sometimes it's really good, other times it is less good. I can't compare with a Sony S6 sensor but I know on xda they have some.

slight yellowish tint on the samsung one

I really cant tell the difference, may b my sight is poor i donno
But the fact that lot of u prefer Samsung sensor while others prefer Sony, says it all i guess
It doesn't really matter which sensor it is
Samsung's software makes up for the difference....

                                    Dear friends.
                                    I am a Galaxy S6 user.
Mine is samsung sensor, according to the experience sony sensor is better .
Samsung sensor never reached any where near to the perfection to Sony IMX 240 .
S6 with Sony IMX 240 was way better .
Due to this i was really dissapointed.

Also to note, S6 with samsung sensor scatter light very easily while sony is perfect .
Also our face become so sharpened by samsung sensor but with sony its always smooth and will be real and pleasant looks.

Guys with this experience, do not go for samsung sensor , sony sensor will be much better in real use. Thats for sure.
Real human face looks better in Sony.
Scattering of light wont be there in sony because sony sensors are really do their job excellent.
Successor to Sony IMX 240 will be definitely better.
Once again i repeat pray for sony sensor and go to the store.

Not the first comparison I see...
Samsung one is a bit better during the day, more sharp, more range, but maybe in low light Sony could be better if it has better noise. Sony has the classic yellow cast, Samsung have a red cast.
Some say that Sony have better focus response.
Well, it all depends, I prefer the Samsung one.

The dual pixel sensor capture a lack real image, you can see the second group comparison.
