I realise these posts are quite old and the phone has been discontinued ages ago. With so many unhappy customers, are there perhaps any dead/broken Umi Touch phones lying in a drawer somewhere you'd be prepared to sell and ship to South Africa, for a reasonable price? I love mine, have replaced the screen several times after falls but now need a charger board which is nowhere to be found online.

I have had my two umi touch phones for 6 months and have had little or no problems with them. That being said any attempt to hold UMIdigi to their promises of roms and updating is doomed to failure. If you complain on their forums you are banned. Their premise seems to be to keep shipping new phones which do not work and then abandoning them . They have no after sales service and the guarantees on the phones are worthless. Avoid this company like the plague they are scammers.

GPS is rubbish. Photo quality is rubbish (as well as the focusing). Had a case and protector but a small drop from 400mm caused a slight crack in the screen and the phone is now unusable (things opening all over the shop). Utter rubbish, avoid.

The MI Touch is a piece of junk. Dont buy it. I say this after my own purchase and 2month trial and observing similar experoences of others wasting their money on a Touch.
The first thing that makes the device unusable is the 'Touch'screen ( ironic eh !) The lower section of the screen does`nt register letters typed from a keyborad. Extremely frustrating and off putting.
Next, all Touch`s I`ve seen have the return button placed askew in its housing. It not only looks cheap, its diconcerting...and amazing that the factory QA would let it pass. Apparently, the Touch`s successor the Super, has the power button placed askew.
The bezel is not consistent and has a wider margin left compared to right.
The Touch, like UMI Super, does`nt have NFC.
No use reporting the failures to UMI. Their agent JoJo simply fails to comprehend the complaint and refers you to the reseller. Very poor service where evidently, the failure is with design, manufacture and quality assurance.
Dont buy a UMI Touch.

I bought an UMI Touch , very disappointed. No compass sensor, the GPS sensor is not even close to be accurate. the fingerprint sensor died after 2 weeks, could not get any help from UMI or the online seller everbuying.com. The battery performed way below the published capacity, I am getting less than 10 hours of use for eacch full charge. All in all it was a nightmare, STAY away from this rubbish.

Bought a Umi Touch configured with 3Gb RAM. Delighted with the quality, to the point I have ordered one for my eldest (3Gb RAM) and a third (2Gb RAM) for a friend. OTA upgrades, Android 6.0 works well, including SD card "added" to internal RAM to create a contiguous pool of memory, fast CPU and good quality camera. 4G as fast as you could ask. Battery enough for 2 days' use, even with extensive I got mine for $149 (3Gb) and $109 (2Gb) and glass screen protectors for $5 each. Great value!

Brought a UMI Touch and returned it for a refund. My first and last UMI. Large white spot on the screen, photo quality is so poor and grainy, worst than my 2 years old THL and Jiayu. Wasted the shipping fees and exchange charges.
Spent the refund on a Ulefone Vienna, has a larger rom ; 32GB. Waiting for the phone to test. Hope that it will not be my last as well

Yeah, I like the metal body, 3GB of RAM and its Android 6.0 OS of UMI touch. As same as the Oukitel k6000 pro with $149.99, both are good mid-range phone for us. What do you think?

Umi seriously make terrible phones and also have lied about the specifications of some of their phones (look up Umi Rome), I had an Umi Emax and they promised Lollipop 5 months ago then last week they confirmed that there would be no Lollipop for it. I had the Umi Iron and it had ghosting issues, apps opening up randomly, sim card errors.
In short, do not trust Umi.
