I've actually heard many praise for build quality, especially ceramic Mi5 PRO. And I'm fine with some features being disabled, I never use Now for example, to me it's useless. So if they want to make it "less heavy" OS, I'm alright. It's a matter of preference and what you want from your phone. Sure, Mi5 is far from a perfect phone, but you can't go wrong for this price. I think it's a glimpse of what Xiaomi can do in the future. And I'm excited about it, because strong competition will make all the phone makers push for better and more. Nice talk man. You've got the praise from another person, and I'll give you one too. Recently I've seen so many Samsung fanboys just trying to bite and bark at everyone, that have a different opinion about their beloved brand. It's nice to see a Samsung owner capable of rational thinking and looking at things from different angle.

Somehow i dont get it... most local brands are basically also manufactured in China and their brand labelled on request... do they fullfill the standard TKDN regulations also ? maybe only their cellular box and paper instructions is made in Indonesia.

IIRC the only major 4G phones allowed in indonesia is samsung, and some low-mid lenovo phone. the only way to get other newer phone models are via gray market afaik. but Iphone probably able to pay their way to get permission.

Reiki, 26 Mar 2016Omg, a comment comparing a Samsung and another phone that i... moreThey have actually GREAT customer service in china but itll take a lot of time to get repairs in other countries except India and China(and maybe in these countries because its demand is always bigger than its supply and Xiaomi is only a small $6billion company,Samsung and Apple have advertisment Budget of $10-15 billion every year).If you are in any of those countries and only have ~400$(30000INR) you should absolutely go for it.MIUI have weekly Update in china BUT Global ROM have less frequent updates.OR if you have time there are some cool devices coming out soon Oneplus 3,LeEco Le 2/2 pro,Le max,Oppo Find 9 in that same price market.For a better perspective of each company Xiaomi is the apple of china,LeEco is the Netflix of China,Oppo is the main innovator(SuperVOOC can charge a 3500 mah battery in ~25 min and sensor optical stabilization is also Promising)But their Phones are of good quality and High priced for a Chinese manufacturer.Oneplus is the cheap version of Oppo flagships with low prices and no Vooc fastcharging and such propitiatory technologies (OPPO just rebrand oneplus flagships).Huawei is like Samsung of China(Much bigger company,High quality,High Prices,Sells truckloads of Phone everywhere)

AnonD-507785, 26 Mar 2016Well...I will partially agree with you, but...TouchWiz is a... moreXiaomi mi5 has alow build quality too.many reviews also said its volume,power and home button is actually loose.Maybe its a problem on a pre release review unit and you can easily pry open the back panel.And its video is not that stabilized as Galaxy s7 even if the use 4-axis OIS but images come out good in daylight.AT night they say its real bad and MIUI never get stock android features.IT means MIUI 7 on kitkat and marshmallow has same features.MIUI disables Now on tap etc etc and you cant install this hugely useful feature.android N have new notification shade and multitasking.I doubt that will ever make it to MIUI

Now, leaving that aside, I wonder if Xiaomi offers any kind of tech support or if you're just alone with your phone after buying it.

Xiaomi's skin on Android gets a lot of praise these days. Feature rich UI you say? Perhaps, but to me it's a lot of bloatware, that I will never use. I remember my last Galaxy, disabled 12 apps right of the bat. Those "gadgets" make the system run like crap after few months, while MIUI is relatively clean and they change very little of an original Android. Liquid cooling just means they messed up, since all the other phones with SD820 can go without it. I've reed about that. They've put CPU on top of memory (or all the way round). The point is, it's a bit of a messy construction, overheats easily, so they had to use liquid cooling. Also Samsung is always slacking off on sound. Loudspeaker is always underpowered, and when you listen to the music on headphones, the sound is just okay. Seems like it's not really their focus, which is okay, I guess. I'm not 100% sure, but I think Mi5 will have more life in it, since they go for 1080p screen (to me, the difference between qHD and fHD, on such a small screen is not visible). But that remains to be seen. And then there's the price...or should I say "half price". That makes it a huge difference. Don't get me wrong, Galaxy S7 is a great phone, and quite the achievement from Samsung. The problem I have with it, for this price, it has to be better than that. But that's just the matter of opinion.

This X-series phone, is only a beginning, what will follow, as accessories, in the future X 6 from Xiaomi. If Xiaomi, will know to manage the price, so that, under that of his direct competitors, then you will have more sales. Personally, the sequel of X 6 version, which will be a "" lightning FAR "for our times.

S7 features in the price of iPhone 5s... moregalaxy S7 is much faster,has a feature rich ui,best in the class camera,waterproof,better screen,optimized processor,liquid cooling and a lot more.
Xiaomi mi5 only beats it in price,quick charging(3.0 vs 2.0) and a reversible connectors.MIUI don't offer now on tap and may useful stock android functions.
MIUI is actually slower to load apps and have terrible ram management(according to many speedtests in youtube).Ram management may be fixed with pro model(4GB)
If you have enough money you should go for galaxy s7/s7e if you have only around 30000 INR to spend on a phone then nothing can beat Xiaomi mi5 pro atleast until ONEPLUS 3 comes out(and if it is actually any good)

"..the flagship will only be available in the company's core markets" so we can assume this as only China and India perhaps.. sigh, hope is lost that this device will come to my country.. still need to wait more, and huawei P9 won't come to Indonesia very soon as the Mate S just recently entered the market last month even honor 7 hasn't hit here, perhaps next year ..sigh
