I get that Tesla has the upper technological advantage when it comes to EVs, has the Tesla supercharger stuff, has the SpaceX (just Elon) thing going but I would not be too quick on the trigger to dismiss other car makes who have already ventured in EVs. Case in point, Nissan has plans for a 200+ mile range Leaf. Whether it comes to fruition or that the test becomes successful or not, I am certainly not in the position to assure. As it stands now, other prominent car makes are just as serious, committed, and dedicated to EVs (maybe dead HALF; 'cause a 200+ mile range is nearly double the EV with the highest MPGe/MPGge currently available in the market). Just having a look at the Nissan-Renault or BMW line-ups for example. Per new year model of EVs, some of the known car makes also generate improvements however minimal. But what do most of the known car makes have in common is that they are no stranger to mass production. So the challenge Tesla might be going through right now is how to mass produce and deliver on their promised time frame

Guess what- in the future we won't be limited by what we are limited to now. The technology of oil extraction has increased tremendously in just the last 10 years. That said, the time for a EV is now. It will be more practical soon.

They think about gas-wasting huge SUVs and sport cars. whereas when you say 'Tesla', people think about EVs. Tesla is dedicated to EVs. Chevrolet is not. also, the bolt requires 9hours for a full charge which is ridiculous compared to tesla's technology allows 170miles off a 30-minute charge. the bolt gives 25 miles off 1hr of charging. how is chevrolet better now?

I would highly appreciate and give my 4 thumbs-up to Tesla if he can penetrate this electrical car to Indonesia. Currently my country monopolized by stupid players which strongly backed-up by corrupted government making my country left behind neighboring countries. We also have oil company which their oil pricing never adjusted fairly based on world oil prices. Still, on this crisis they never laid off any single employees. Also, they limit and regulate any competitors making them not growing any inch. Our freedom is colonialized by our own.

Lolguy, 03 Apr 2016This is what TESLA is trying to address....that is exactly what i mean. i bet soon Tesla will be the one laughing at other companies since they will have more advanced technology in electric cars due to so many years making them. 35,000$ price for a lower model is a huge milestone. i hope soon more cheaper electric cars by Tesla will be announced.
