Since nearly all zenfone user I know are satisfied using it (around 8 of 10, started from 4, 5, 6 era to 2 era). They are ranged from first time users, switching users (from other Android devices), and repeat order (buying them second time, in case of upgrading from 1st gen to zenfone 2). I don't know the overall impression worldwide though.
And for a side note: Most of the people I know are upgrading to the 2 Lasers variant (ZF Laser, ZF Selfie, etc) which use SD instead of Intel. Although most reason are laser auto-focus feature (only fraction of them actually considering SD vs Intel thing).

Aslipundit, 10 May 2016wondering how they managed to sell millions of them? Because ASUS marketed it as an affordable flagship and it managed to lure those 1st-time buyers. However, the feedback is negative 5 out of 10 people from what I observed.
As mid-top range phone become more competitive nowadays, I believe people will not rush for the same series without a proper comparison.

Only buying it if it comes with an Intel soc. Dont want another one of a million Qualcom/Mediatek powered handsets out there. The price vs performance ratio for the Zenfone 2 was fantastic.

Who should buy this phone? Zenfone2 after 1 year of selling still use the same Lollipop OS, and there is no hope to upgrade to Marshmallow. The build and technological principles of zenfone 2 are good but the quality and the OS implementation are far for reasonable. So, for me Zenfone3 is not an option. And if is Asus and Intel business i will not count on that Snapdragon 820 :)

I Thought intel dropped smartphone soc like broxton? Dont tell me a core m on a zenfone 3 haha that would be nice then a powervr 8xt or 7xt. Well a man could dream.
