Allegedly. It also has the iffy square fingerprint reader under the screen.

As for brightness that depends on the model but OLEDs can easily be as bright as LCD.

I definitely believe that they should have put it on the back dimple but if they're going to do the modular backplate expansion thing, that would be much harder without a larger middle hole in all the new backs they've got going on. LG just developed a buttonless fingerprint sensor that can accurately scan through up to 0.3mm of glass. If the 2017 moto x has that then I can see it meeting the aesthetics that fans seem to be demanding and still do the backplate modular thing they've got going on.

I like it. I feel like this could be a fantastic device.. Moto is great and the finger sensor on front is ideal. I hade the nexus 5x and I have also had many front facers. the iphone 6, the HTC a9 and now the HTC 10 and I rather it be on front.. I don't like the back placement.

Why the hell are they sacrificing battery capacity for a phone 5.2" thin??? Is Motorola loosing it's marbles?
Battery capacity and stamina is a Motorola strength..why are they abandoning all that a super thin phone.
I will take a little girth 8"-10" if that means I get a huge battery as trade of.

Love the shatter shield. But 2600mAh on an Android smartphone with a 5.5" screen? That's a red flag if I've ever seen one.

But brightness does suffer a lot (particularly when it comes to direct sunlight). Also OLED might burn in.
