Lol 😂Since it only runs a part of an app, it should use less memory, but the partitioning might use more flash storage, which - again - suggests handset makers should (have to) specify the *available* amount of storage (say, after first boot on the release firmware) in their marketing.

I can't see this feature going live in the US. The Big Four usually have the last say in whether or not they will allow the release of a certain Android OS version until they give it the green light. Unless Google is willing to give them access to the seamless updates system, they're going to have to send those updates to US customers the old fashioned way, via OTA.

S7 has got the option to set a time to install the downloaded updates called "Install Overnight".. Why would we need "Seamless Update" feature??

Yesterday got Android N on my Nexus P6, amazing changes and nice fidelity. To enjoy such newest and fresh upgrades better to carry on Nexus.Thanks Google

Everyone almost got excited bout this feature then they suddenly announced it won't be possible. Still more fun to install via recovery. Custom ROM Hehe.

No matter how many fancy add-ons you put on android, main idea/core of it is just old and not prepared for future. It's still just more advanced dumbphone system that is made for media consumption, not work.
Long time ago they should prepare it to replace normal systems like linux/windows with automatic updates of specific parts of system(modules/drivers) where you don't need to update whole system just to fix some small bugs. And thanks to it. And because of that parts, Google could separate main part of system from other parts that would be modified by OEMs. For example camera drivers or separated apps of phone, sms, music player, launcher, etc. Where every part would be updated separately not as a one big pack. The same with security updates. After time I spend on XDA reading how OEMs systems are build, it would be not a problem to separate all that and make such update system where hardware don't stand in the way(main problem on android). And core of system/security would be updated by google and apps/more hardware depending drivers/modules would be updater by OEMs.
Most of companies actually started to do this by separating apps from system to Market(launchers, players, keyboards etc) but Google would need to think about preparing android for such updates to make it real.
But they don't want it. It's better to have annoying hyped one-year update and more and more hardware to manage. As a android user I hope this system will die and other, proper Linux based system would replace it because android or even chromeOS are useless compared to what people really need. Not to mention that for now phones have amazing power... And most of it goes to keep system it self to run, so it show how bad android is made. Because it's not good when mobile system need such power to run smooth(compared to iOS, WP or even proper windows where on idle system doesn't take half of resources just to scroll window like android).
