"Google Photos stores an unlimited amount of photos at a maximum of 16MP," I didn't know that, my phones camera is 13MP and I've been saving everything in its original quality, this now gives me a very good reason to choose high quality instead and save some storage space.

I wonder why those media files were restricted from high quality in the first place. Is it that hard or long for them to stack up in the database? Or file support transfer? Im guessing here..

Seems unlikely. After numerous tests by users, the compression by Photos is decent which means it is more efficient than the compression applied by our devices.

I wonder if this is only for photos shot with the Nexus¿
If I can get unltd photo space for all my 18+ mp photos then I'll switch back to the Nexus
