you are right it's a well crafted p... moreI agree metal feels good. But I actually think that my lumia 950XL with the leather brown replacement cover feels even better. Leather feels amazing compared to metal.
But yah it's a reference device. One that sort of shows off some of the current features of w10m. Though again I don't feel it will be ready till spring 2017 with redstone 2. So no point of even selling windows devices. I guess the niche crowd will always buy them.

And really I prefer to have a replaceable cover to allow your phone to look unique. I'm not talking about protective cases. These completely change the look of the phone simply by changing the removable cover. And like I said the mozo brown leather one makes it look beyond any flagship out there with metal, and people always ask me about it, but I still prefer the all black for some reason. And that's the beauty of the replacement covers. You can make your phone appeal to yourself. I think more flagships should do that. Rely on accessories by allowing a removable cover. This would also allow adding of SDcards/changing battery, and all that. I think in terms of that MS designed it really well by making the cover sit behind the actual screen glass.

But as one of that "small society" (5 ft 5" with small hands), I'd love to see every manufacturer bring their flagships in two size: 4.5" & 5.5"
Although my finger reach range to 4" screen max, but 4.5" still could do for me. At least those two size caters the average users of small and large hands respectively.

It is simple, classy and ELEGANT. Though Lumia 930, 730, 1020, 925 etc were better than ms lumias, but 950 is also in the same league. Beauty is subjective....

and in terms of build quality it doesn't stand a chance against the other 2016 flagship

Yes good to see another manufacturer taking on W10P but again why do they think a massive screen is what everyone wants, this is a tablet not a phone, do people actually carry these things around all day?!
When are they going to figure out that 4.5 inches is big enough!
They make high end Androids and iPhones in smaller sizes for a reason i.e. not everyone wants a massive phone!!!

AnonD-347233, 31 May 2016yup agreeed nokia lumia designs were much better than ms.I have to disagree. Have you held the black 950XL in your hands? It's actually quite a nice stealthy looking phone. The blending of the black version reminds me of the Sr-71 jet. The screen is in front of the case enclosure, the bezel is freaking tiny. And if you don't like the original plastic you can get different back plates which most phones don't have that option. So I do have the brown leather one from mozo and it does look more premium from the back. But I don't like the gray metal trim. I prefer the black as it blends so nicely. But Nokia phones were in my opinion pretty ugly. Only ones I felt were appealing were the lumia 830/930/icon. The rest reminded me of some fisher price toys.

It's great to see new WP10 devices, but 6" screen...is to big for myself, but I'm sure other will love.

If anything they've looked to Huawei for ideas - not a bad thing, the P9 is one of the best looking phones out (which also does not look like an S7).
This could actually be a very good phone. Market dependent though.
