Looks like a great entry level phone, if it had been water resistant it would be e killer.

Just look at the Xperia M2 , It started at Jellybean and now it's at Lollipop and the E5 and the M2 are similarly priced phones, It may probably even receive Android "O"

AnonD-480261, 31 May 2016Meh. This phone could've gone way better. It's too expen... morelol slipping snapdragon 650 in this device will cost more $$, look at xperia x..i think 5" 720p with MTK6735 is ok, with 720p, at least ppl can play some games with that weak chipset at the cost of low resolution. but looking at this spec, this devices isnt meant for gaming tho, better take some cheap chinese phone with snap650 like Redmi Note 3 if you just want to play games. hopefully its camera is ok to cover all cons. but yeah the thing that i really really agree with you is the RAM.. why not just put 2gb -.- sony please dont follow samsung by putting 1.5gb ram..

Lead2XL, 31 May 2016Why buy this phone when you could have the Xiaomi Redmi 3 f... moreRedmi Note 3 with 4000mah, the battery still draining fast, trust me i had that device. sold it and bought Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KL with only 2400mah battery, still last longer that Redmi Note 3. 4000mah battery is nothing if other things suck it fast (like the screen, system etc.). and also, Redmi Note 3 camera sucks.

Lead2XL, 31 May 2016Why buy this phone when you could have the Xiaomi Redmi 3 f... moreThat's because they offer a better experience than those Chinese phones, I currently have a Lenovo P70 and I regret buying that piece of crap, I bought it mainly because of it's 4000 mAh Battery. My mom has an M4 Aqua and her phone lasts longer than my P70 also her phone works really smoothly compared to mine , which has a better spec'd (on paper) SoC while mine is lagging and these Chinese companies can't even properly update these phones! mine is still running on Kitkat , well they did release an update to Lollipop, but It was a mess, they left us with an unpolished and buggy AOSP and didn't bother to deal with us customers anymore

AnonD-322352, 31 May 2016Pathetic specs for that price. Actually, theyre preety darn good...
4.1 bt, 200gb sd card support, 294 ppi screen....
            The price is good

E5 has good specs for an entry phone in my opinion. But the price should be 149 Euros tops, not 199.

Lead2XL, 31 May 2016Why buy this phone when you could have the Xiaomi Redmi 3 f... moreSo buy a chinese one and stop ranting...
Its like a millionth "price" comment already about chinese being cheaper...
                Jezzzs.
Its that way, and always will be
Get over it, buy chinese, and live happily..

On top brands you pay up more for software solutions which are just better....
Software development costs too you know, so you get less of that software quality with cheaper phones.
                End of story

Why buy this phone when you could have the Xiaomi Redmi 3 for less and with a higher res display and a 4000 mAh battery? If you want a 5 inch phone, that is. Sony and many other "big names" come out with mid range phones that are still more expensive and with lower grade specs than many Chinese phones.

Good thing that Sony is hiding those stereo speakers again, They look nasty on Xperia X

Atleast this price looking near perfect to me.. Priced at same as galaxy j5(2016)model.. Thought €170 would be more perfect bcz there have mediatek chipset with 1.5gb of ram compared to j5's snapdragon 410 and 2 gb ram but still ok.. Atleast Sony didn't remove basic features.. Offering e good design, nfc, light sensor!!

                              Meh.

This phone could've gone way better. It's too expensive too..

It could last for 2 Days, that's awesome, typical Sony. Same goes with the Design, it is nice and simple. Pretty sure the camera will also be superb.

                              Now for the cons.

It's only 720p. 2 Days isn't really amazing. if it is 1080p with 2 days battery, that is amazing. Well, still impressive..

Next is that only 1,5 Gigs of ram.. Very disappointing. Despite the fact that there are now a lot of phones that offer 2 GB RAM already that cost way cheaper. If this phone run stock, RAM shouldn't be a problem.

                              Now, is the Chipset.
The Chipset could've gone way better. Why not Snapdragon 650?? It runs games smoothly, unlike this mediatek. I have a Phone with this mediatek Chipset, and believe me people, it OVERHEAT (50 C° at max) and it still LAGS on heavy games such Asphalt 8. I'm waiting for a software updates, hopefully it will fix my phone's overheat..

                              And now is the ROM..
Last time on the latest xperia phones, 12 GIGS are used for system. Now, how much would this phone have left? 4 GB?

There are better phones, people :/
