AnonD-543640, 31 May 2016I could easily rack up over 10 grand on a windows gaming pc... moreMe too, though about 2000 would be reserved for the audio department; speakers, subwoofer and AntiMode, amplifier and some acoustic panels as well. Then the computer itself. High-end PC wouldn't the crippled by sub-par audio quality.

AnonD-376219, 31 May 2016Intel will not lower their prices. And if they do. it will ... moreI meant the lower-end CPU's, like my 6700k and so on - not the high-end like this 10-core monster. :)

AnonD-543640, 31 May 2016I could easily rack up over 10 grand on a windows gaming pc... moreA decent home-assembled gaming pc that runs any tripple A game in fullhd doesn´t cost more than 800 USD.
No mac computers gets close to this pricetag. Not to mention the world of trouble of compatibility issues with games designed for windows gamers and not mac gamers (99% of tripple A games).
The 10-core chip from intel isn´t a gaming chip either, it´s created for heavy load work stations and complex rendering tasks. You can´t really compare the 2. It´d be like comparing a Tesla S car with a Formula 1 car.

Anonymous, 31 May 2016Hopefully those are good enough to make Intel lower their prices.Intel will not lower their prices. And if they do. it will max a 200$ lower from a 1700$ to a $1500. AMD zen looks like its going to be double the performance of the FX8350. and if the price is right like around 300-350 its going to be again the best price to performance CPU on the market.

AnonD-543640, 31 May 2016I could easily rack up over 10 grand on a windows gaming pc... moreand meanwhile MacPro... has maybe 10th of the power of even 2k gamin PC. I remember when I was assembling my custom gaming rig I have spent ~£1400 and the similar Mac Pro at the time (4 years ago) would have costed me £37000. That included 27" monitor, SSD raid, 32GB of DDR3 and 2XRadeon 5870. I think base Mac Pro had 4GB of Ram and extra 4Gb were like £1700 (more than my entire PC with £32Gb rams which were as well much better quality then one in mac - Corsair Dominators GT). Conclusion never compare mac with PC - Mac is at least 10x overpriced for same performance.

Even after you assemble a desktop with this monster, it will still just cost the same as a weak mac desktop or even a bit cheaper.
