You are right and even I think so that there si no major changes in any other mobile operating system as all are getting old and losing out day to day practicality .. sometimes Symbian fells much more practical then ios and androids...
Now even ios also become buggy and android is not so much straight forward..
BlackBerry users are declining and they loose interest in BlackBerry 10 os otherwise BlackBerry os was good and it is still good and secure..
Sometimes I miss those old days when mobile phones are all about looks and attitude.. they were practical though but now a days all able apps,apps and apps or about updates..
Nothing new same old story in an new book. Even phone desighns are quite same.. many Chinese 3 tier brands offering same design style as of Samsungs and iphone..
Nobody knows what will happen next till finger crossed.

2. I havent defended iOS in any way. My current belief is that innovation has been pretty small within mobile OS for a few years now. That is across iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry. I wouldnt be expecting any big innovation. Just perfecting the experience and taking it forward each time. Changing icons adds no value at all

Should the iPhone7 look anything like my current iPhone6s, I won't have any reason to "upgrade". Rather pick up iPhone 6s Plus and wait for 2017's iteration. Only if they release a iPhone7Pro (alas Note) then I can purchase, Apple needs a total shake up, really!

Jokes apart, I don't think Apple is going to show any evolution for the next 5 years unless they get someone like Steve Jobs back. !!

Well it was rumored that iphones will be water resistant and also will have stereo speakers if that turns out to be true it will be a great news for apple fans(i am not one of them)
