Anonymous, 03 Jun 2016hence, why he said front facing cameraalright lets break down the english language, i started my first comment talking about the main camera, his/her reply is "actually almost every lousy 2mp FRONT FACING camera is from omnivision" he or she uses the word >actually< as if to bring truth to a stituation, here is the problem the situation never was about front facing cameras, my initial comment wasnt along the lines of BOTH front and back cameras so his reply was completely irrelevant
and when you replied to me saying hence why he said front facing camera i am completely baffled, what if you said " sky scrappers are the color red in india" and i replied "actually sky scrappers are blue in new zealand" see how that makes no sense

Really, what an innovative approach. Compare number of detail in still shots and 4K of S7edge/HTC10... and higher res phones, it's catching more light but thats all, nothing innovative in it. Sony instead use sensor that catch more light and colors with less pixel size, also their processing is bad but picture and video of that res feels more natural as it comes closer to reality and not to less pixels. Thats the reason sony uses in new phone 16Mp selfie and not 5Mp one, same for main cam. 12Mp in phone cameras is like FHD in phone screens, its great for some who don't know to do better with higher res, but it's definitely not the best tech.

mir, 02 Jun 2016Remake the nokia 808 pureview with the same sensor size but... moreNope.. Oversampling will produce better result than having the sensor at 12MP.. Because Bayer filter will cause error/noise in the image and can only be eliminated by downsampling an image.. Nokia's pureview 41MP picture downsampled to 8MP/12MP is still unbeatable and can match even dslr in quality

And nothing beats Nokia's pureview 41MP sensor downsampled to 8MP/12MP.. No matter how large the 12MP pixel sensor there will always be error due to bayer filter estimation

Remake the nokia 808 pureview with the same sensor size but improved lenses and internals. Then ditch the oversampling technique and reduce the resolution to 12mp. That will remove the need for pixel oversampling since the physical size of the pixels will be very large anyway. SD820 with a dedicated image processor and you will have a cameraphone unlike any other. I will wake up now
