I think they should go in direction of J and A series. Just make it samsung s (2017) and samsung note (2017). Problem solved.

Last year I was thinking that then Sami should have changed the name to 6. Apparently it might take them another year! By the way from the beginning no company thinks of the future devices and we have all these weird numbering

Fake image but not ruling out that this could still be called Note7 (Not Note 7). Also how can you get confused with the Note 8.0 and Note8 they are clearly different so I don't see any problems with that.

Therefore not Note 8 but Note8. Well, you never know, may come Note10 and then just updates :)
Next year will be certainly interesting, may come surface phone(with pen) even before note series...
I really wish everybody would make the same names(J7 - (2016)) or include year directly, it would be so much better.

When the Note 2 was released, I already thought, that the Note 8 problem will occur in a few years.
Maybe they rename to Note 7 to make the Note 9 in 2019.
2011 - Note 1
2012 - Note 2
2013 - Note 3
2014 - Note 4
2015 - Note 5
2016 - S7-Note7
2017- S8-Note 9 (S9?)
2018 - whatever

I feel they are going to do something like Note infinity they'll tilt the 8 sideways
and the year after that go to note 9 and pretend as if nothing ever happened

I have a better idea call this note6 and in 2017 note7 then when it comes to note8 skip it to note9 confusing problem of note 8.0 solved
