07 June, 2016
A prototype of the upcoming phone has been caught browsing the internet and its user agent says it's on Marshmallow.

AadiRizvi, 09 Jun 2016Well for the record, i use an Xperia Z5 which is far more f... moreAh, too much assumptions about what I am going to say.

In any case, I agree with you somewhat. AOSP based ROMs will always be better than any skinned Android, TW, Sense, everything, I have said it like a million times, Samsung should ditch TW and simply use vanilla Android like Moto and Sony do.

But another thing is I don't know what you are talking about Note 5 being that slow! It is one of the fastest android phone around there, yeah, along with the Nexuses, and that's not my comment either (I don't use a Note 5 and don't plan to), but the devs from XDA, and XDA is a place mostly about Nexus anyway, cause its easy to work on.

And the "no innovation" part about Samsung is pure BS. I use a Note 4 and it has one of the best display panel, great built, great call quality, very good camera, and I am leaving S Pen and all the associated stuffs, which other companies have always dreamt of and keep on, and I have not noticed any of those TouchWiz lags anyway, and been using it for nearly five months now. Another thing FYI, I don't follow anything, I have used EVERY OEM's devices, and Samsung is the one where I see least number of compromises have to made, so I choose Samsung, simple as that.

In any case, I am a thorough TW hater, and I still think Samsung should use ditch and use stock Android (of course not the atrocious apps of stock android like Dialler, Contacts, Messaging or Camera), that's how Google intended android to be used, not with some heavy skin on top of it.

AnonD-89109, 08 Jun 2016That lag after certain amount of time's usage is getting pr... moreWell for the record, i use an Xperia Z5 which is far more fluid than your pathetic Touchwiz (I've used S6 & Note5). The UI of Xperia is so fast and responsive that Samsung could only dream of. Im not showing off or anything but thats true, Samsung only works over gimmicks, i dont see any innovation in their phones but gimmicks while the Z5 actually owns them in practical usage. Gives you 2 days of battery life (yes, 2 days) and a pretty good camera. What else would i want from my phone? And did i mention all this fluidity comes only from its 3 gigs of RAM (& not 4!).
Grow up, dont follow the crowd. Come out of peer pressure and choose your phone what you really want not what your friends/gf/bf want you to use.
P.S. And dont tell me that Samsung is expensive and i cannot afford it that is why i am saying. Well Samsung is pretty normal here in Pakistan, i could get a Note5/S6 in less amount than i spent on the Z5 (let alone the Z5 Premium), so dont get me started on pricing yet.

Yes, it was right, but its hilariously stupid to say now. TouchWiz has changed, a lot, now if you don't change your cave living like comments too then its boring, and stupid.

Note 5 got MM update after 6-7 months of MM's release.expect same with N .

i don't see whats wrong with this...as many of the other readers have pointed out, consumers will be more comfortable with a stable marshmallow rather than a preview version(all hell would have broken loose here if sammy was going to put android N, you guys would have then said that they are putting an unsstable OS in their phones..nice going gsma, very good sense of impartial journalism)
and its not like android is making improvements on the kernal as such, they are just adding layers and layers of code, making the OS heavier...why else do you think flagships need 3-4gb ram nowadays whereas iphone is content with 2gb(no, i'm not a fanboy, i use an s7 edge)
also, stock android sucks...the moto g4 plus that is so prominent in the news is yuck, my dad got it and he wants to throw it away(sometimes a custom UI does help..have you seen the contacts in stock, its like they made th phone and then they thought, hey its a phone, we forgot to add the telephoning ability and slapped in a contacts APP)

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2016yep you love lg..and..here you are on the thread site of yo... moreOh so there is a grandpa here on GSMA who only reads (with his big spectacles ofcourse) the news of his phone's OEM only because his eyes begin to hurt soon. Ok grandpa, we get it, but here, we love to read news from all OEMs be it smartphone maker, smartwatch maker, VR maker, projector maker, bluetooth headset maker etc etc etc. Its not our fault that you only need to be updated about your OEM, its a tech newspaper for me, which i love to read early in the morning. Never impose your thoughts on others grandpa.

Every other person has a Samsung or an iPhone. Stand out from the crowd, use something which gives value not just lags after 3 months of purchase.
P.S. I use neither of the OEM's phone mentioned above.

Even if Samsung somehow managed to acquire a 'raw' Android N platform, I'd rather choose a stable Marshmallow version of a Galaxy Note than a twitching Touchwiz from a hurriedly-done N version one.

Touchwiz is a deep kernel-level tweak and a literal redesign of a standard Android material. It needs time to settle inside the new Android and stabilize.
