I see a lot of moronic comments about why is EU fining all the tech companies and the answer is quite simple: they break the laws, they get fined. Every other transport service in the country follows the law and regulations but Uber doesn't have to because it's "a tech company"? Google operates in EU and makes money by selling ads, but doesn't really feel like paying taxes, so we should respect their decision? Hell no! If I can pay my taxes I certainly expect them to pay theirs. No exceptions, and if they don't like it, they can fu*k off from here and stay in US. And I don't give a shot what their shareholders think. EU is not fining every tech company, just those that break the laws. And GSMARENA is a site about tech stuff, so it's reporting only about tech companies that get fined, not about non-tech companies getting fined.
