mir, 29 Jun 2016I think acer and HTC are the taiwanese companies.Besides them, Asus also a Taiwanese company.
Regarding bad or not, I have tried to held Max 2016 and while it's on charge and on home screen, it's quite warm already. Some rumors from seller even said that some have it to 60C or even explode (which is weird indeed). I have a friend who use Zenfone Laser 550kl and it's quite good and not overheat like what those dubious sellers said, but it gets warm like other phones if used to take video or heavy gamings

You should check out the benchmark for the latest SD823 chip. It is marginally faster than the SD820.
Admittedly the 8GB of Ram bit is pretty much for future-proofing. Though I feel it MIGHT impact on performance. Maybe not.

asian country ? means india as well.. but some news are saying on july 12 asus is only covering taiwan for zen 3 release..:/
anyways hope it comes soon to india..really cant wait now..:(

Never buy Asus Zenfone. They are simply the worst in terms of software updates & support in general.
