Those patents are joke!... how can apple patent something what already exists... Just makes the whole thing invalid. I was probably since Android 3.0 Honeycomb where they introduced multi-window, split view and one hand controls ...

Apple is only patenting the design..
its already 2016 but users could still not change the design and that's why they patented...
coz people will think why should I buy an iFon if it looks like and functions like other smartphones but less than an iFon...
isheeps was invented for the ifans because iFons all look the same in design and layout and users are not able to change it.

It's a huge update over iPhone because double sim ,really great camera,SD card,no over heating, beautiful screen and a huge battery life. Almost all the boxes been checked for a quality phone. If it's not available in your area, that's a bummer..... I believe GSM ARENA reviewed this phone. There is a SD615 version of A8 which I don't recommend to you. If you get the phone i said trust me.... This is one of the best midrange phone from Samsung. This must be more affordable by now...... Good luck brother.......

but one thing you have to ask yourself, why did they use the hong kong patent offices? why not patent it in your home country, or all around the world for that matter, patent in eu , usa, why just hong kong. was this the only place the people who made those patents originally forgot to apply a patent? and the company hopes to block or sue, just in that particular area?

It's literally the Windows 8/8.1/10's split screen interface design, along with any ideas that they can steal from Samsung. The only reason they'ed even bother with patenting this is to sue Android since it's going to be a native feature in Android N!

Also OEMs were already making popular touchscreen devices running Windows Mobile while iOS was just a dream.

But hey at least we can credit Apple for popularizing the dumb idea of sealing in the Battery!
Thanks for that Apple! You really helped create disposable phones!!!
