ZeroLemon's new Nexus 6P battery case promises to almost triple the phone's battery life

06 July, 2016
If you are one of those people, who spend a lot of time away from a socket, then you have probably come across ZeroLemon is search of a solution for your extended mobile needs. Now, the company also has a solution for the Nexus 6P lined up. As you have probably guessed, it comes in the shape of a case, quite a bulky one at that. It measures 7.17 x 3.43 x 0.82 inches and weighs in at a hefty 250 grams.

It's just a battery case which means it's just a power bank. It means that it will not save your phone after the internal battery in your phone has degraded. Moreover, battery cases / power banks resuls in more frequent charging the phone which means even faster degradation of the phone's internal battery.

So the real solution is to buy a phone that has removable battery, and buy an extended battery. Extended battery is NOT equal to external battery / battery case / power bank. Extended battery replaces your phone's own battery to a higher capacity one.

Sad, that majority of top-notch latest phones are without removable batteries. For me that is deal breaker and that's major reason I still have not upgraded from Note2+Zerolemon 9300mAh... Just got used to 1week+ uptime, that is freaking awesome.

Its nice that they released this for Nexus, but just sad that nexus battery is sealed, so you lose some % of effeciency of this battery.

OEM's should release phones with removable batteries!
    Dealbreaker for me.

Second dealbreaker for me is poor loudspeaker quality, but thats another discussion.

Zero, 06 Jul 2016Zack brains has nothing do with why it has no removable bac... moreThat's the thing buddy why isn't there removable batteries in nexus devices? It would make the phones more versatile rather than having to plug it into a charger everyday, and further no memory card expandability? Since these phones don't even have UFS 2.0 what's their reasoning for limiting storage?

despite the great hardware and design i don't get why they have to make such weird omissions that are of no benefit to the customer at least LG understands that this a weird trend...

I charge my Nexus 6P every morning for around 45min to 1hr max while I finish my morning routine and leave for my office.
I fall in moderate to heavy user category & have more than 120 apps installed out of which around 7-10 apps like Parallel space, WhatsApp, Gmail are always running in the background. My usage mostly includes browsing internet, WhatsApp, 40-50 min of daily call time, casual gaming, writing on Evernote, etc. After dinner I'll mostly watch an episode of some tv series or watch YouTube. It survives for the day without need of 2nd charge. During whole night the phone hardly looses 2-3% being idle when i check battery in the morning before I put it on charge.
I'm glad to say that my Nexus 6P consistently survives the day with atleast 20% battery by the time I reach home. And I never felt wasting my time charging the phone or wait for it to get enough charged to carry on my work.
This is a complete phone. No complains till now. Getting regular software updates every month.

But but the 810 will burn it down!

If google had the brains to let the battery be removable zerolemon could have made a more useful extended battery for the 6P than a just a powerbank plugged into the usb!!!
