So even if you would manage to put that card into a phone with a MicroSD card slot, you wouldn't be able to use it anyways.

Seems good to me. I hope my next phone has this. Who wouldn't want another standard if that standard actually greatly IMPROVES things?

AnonD-322352, 07 Jul 2016Way to go, Samsung! Yet ANOTHER new standard for expandable... moreBut as long as this new standard is there to take over MicroSD card as the UFS cards is WAAAAAAAY WAY better than the current MicroSD cards, then it's fine. And that's even normal progression of technology.

It's not like Apple that is going to take away the 3.5mm minijack (as rumored) that is a widely used standard today and replace it with something new that isn't better in any shape of form than the 3.5mm minijack is today, then that's a bad way of replacing something.

Samsung isn't that dumb to do anything like Apple is going to do here (if the rumours are correct about this).

as a reply i can say that alternatives or upgrades are always welcome wether they're good, practical or welcomed is another thing... usf card seems really good for the speed and i can agree with u in the fact that SD are really usefull nowadays but u can't deny the fact it can be faster/better
              cheers ^_^

The same way how other company pressure Samsung to use USB Type C. Yeah, thats right. Taste your own medicine. Btw, why are people making a big deal of this changes?

"It will be expensive. There no device support it. What if they make this their proprietary format? It will dies out. Blablablabla..."

Shut up with the stupid comment. UFS card will never dies out because it is super fast. With 4k video demand and VR recording availability faster card is just what we need.

Now, Samsung even 'gladly' change the external storage card format for you since they changing the usb format anyway. Btw, who said sd card so 2010 and we don't need it? Professional camera, video camera still use sd card. The tv station, news, graphic-art-design professionals used it everyday. They use and fill the whole card and submit it and insert new card on the go. Don't underestimate the power of sd card.

Thank Heavens .. march of technology keeps on -despite trolls hitlers shylocks ..we have electricity ! 4G LTE .. JAPAN is the only nation in the world with TRUE LTE speeds 120mbs + while usa uk france germany even china with FALSE lte of less than 20mbs max.. we recorded max of 16mbs on our samsung galaxy note 4..usually 8mbs ..
PROBLEM- is networks are VERY slow to invest in new tech..trying to squeeze every cent of profit from customers .. lots loud false claims by networks ..proven by tests by independent consumers associations .. trolls gtfo ..

Either this, or some Micro SD revolution that can take both the super speed and backwards compatibility.
