Skype drops support for older versions of Windows Phone, Android, and OS X

21 July, 2016
Microsoft has announced that it will be dropping support for the older versions of some of the operating systems for Skype. The applications has evolved to support a lot of new features over the years and understandably some of these platforms can no longer support them. That, or Microsoft just doesn't want the hassle of providing support for so many platforms out there, which is also understandable to an extent.

I always love to see MS makes foolish choice;
they dropped their 15GB free OneDrive camera roll, while that thing is the only feature that keeps people using OneDrive,
they stop further support for WP 7, 7.5, and 7.8 while they know their partner Nokia will suffer from low sales and heavy loss,
they sell as expensive as possible their cheap WP rigs, which most people won't even bother looking,
they gives software update only to selected WP, moreover LUMIA only, which resulted in low sales and huge loss of profit,
now, they stop support of Skype for older OS, just because of more and more sophisticated feature? and MANY MORE.

See what happens when all u think is money, profit, and fame? Try to learn from Google Android OS, MS. All apps are working with minimum ICS, that is 6 years ago!

                  So have come to this where perfectly functioning and capable hardware is rendered obsolete by not updating it anymore. No platform is safe from this.

                          It really not understandable why always Skype on Windows is much behind Skype for iOS. While Windows and Skype are two brands owned by same party called Microsoft!!

                            Have been a Windows phone user for almost 5 years.
                            Switched to Android a month ago after all those apps getting dropped!!
                            Miss the camera on my Lumia 930 but don't regret my move a single bit.
                            Microsoft just doesn't care at all about it's own supporters!!
                            What a shame.
