I was one of the earliest adopters of CM back in the day when android began.

It certainly is a great platform for android but honestly i don't think that they thought this through long enough.

If they'd have waited a little while or got a better deal with OPO then they might still be on top, China would have been the preferable market, not india lol.

Shame, and i imagine we'll continue to see it on XDA anyway, so not the end of the road.

Anonymous, 23 Jul 2016I think you never English to comment here'had' ... he just missed it.
Can we stop this pretentious nonsense about knocking off people's English.
Any me no English is welcomed to try.

True caller was an unnecessary feature for cyanogen rom because that made normal users paranoid about privacy. They could release their own device with a rock solid rom without a single bug.... There is a lot people who loves cyanogen mod will buy that device just to support them to get real cyanogen phone. Farewell cyanogen....

Once they tried to separate Google from Android & now they are Separating from CyanogenMod

I hope they keep uploading roms on their site and also focus on app development. They should also release their own smartphones

This is about cyanogen inc and cyanogen os . Not about the cyanogenmod. So the ROM support for the devices will continue.

I remember them saying that Samsung will be gone in 5 years.. I love CyanogenMOD roms though my current device does not support it

Got to greedy and wanted to start something it very well couldnt gett off the ground without google...... they ahould have stuck with the roots of cyanogen and leave it as a rom mod and keep the dev for older handsets rocking.

Looks like a lot of people hates cyanogen. But why?!!. Their business choices might be wrong but they did help a lot of people with new roms for their 'old' devices. I feel so bad for them for how they endup like this....

Good old times when we just went to their site to see if we could free our phones from the outdated OS they stopped at...
Hope there's some continuation to the open source part, like it should be (the open source one at least): some folks that love programming get together to make something cool for themselves and just happen to share it with people.

i used to use their roms in 2 of my previous devices, but as they started using a TrueCaller dialer that uploaded all your contacts to their cloud, Cyanogen does not exist for me since, no matter how optimized their roms might be.
