The Note series used to improve the hardware of the Galaxy S of that year, now it's just the same. It feels a little awkward to pay 750 USD for a device that has the same chipset as the 4 month old S7.

I could deal with laggy touchwiz myself later by installing custom ROM ...

Still waiting for marshmallow on my note 4.
Having dropped my note the other day, really effectively; kicking it after a 1.5metre fall, face down, sliding for a metre over a very rough surface; my hopes of retiring it to lounge room use to become my theatre remote (Yay INfra red blaster); have been somewhat dashed; twenty plus months of no damage, and in one swift move, every edged roughed up (the screen protector is 'all bubbles')...
I had considered a water proof phone, nearly grabbing S7 on occaision, I just didn't want to give up the S-pen. It is without a doubt one of my most used useful features; unique to this line.
glad they have focused on water proofing the note series.
Looking forward to Samsungs' exceptionally low SAR (especially in phablets)..
Hoping they exynos and sony imx sensor me in my local market.
I prefer the better DAC pairing with exynos chipset than what snapdragon generally does, and I believe if Samsung have optimisations for their front end, and apps, it would be for their own chip design... ( I can hope )
Only reason I will hesitate on purchase is to do with company ethos.
I really feel my flagship, being in one of the first regions it was sold, has been left without, sammmobile page still not having a rom for updating... and I know this has a lot of users buying new kit...
looking for reasons to skip it; hoping it is a sexy beast.
Damn you Samsung. ;-)

So, after we hear that it will be only an edge version, now I see a no edge phone that looks 95% like a shitty Sony Z/X. I really really hope it was an early prototype that went to trash can in the mean time.
