Their business model might understand their own market better, maybe paying that much extra cost would inflate the price of the handset and thus they'll lose customers. Plus MediaTek isn't as bad as it's made out to be. I find it superior to Kirin and overall their SoCs have improved quite a lot. GPUs are their weakness but some chipsets have bearable GPUs.

Tucking Fypo, 06 Aug 2016my country of residence is India. htc is officially present... moreHahaha here Huawei is a major presence in the market along with some local brands. Samsung is also selling crappy Js by the millions as well as LG which sells cheaper flagships of last season mostly. Apple is selling well too but rest of the Tier-1 manufacturers are struggling. Sony is non-existent in most markets and I have yet to see even a poster, but it sells for extremely high prices even older flagships..

Tucking Fypo, 06 Aug 2016mate you should also consider few more facts 1. meizu is 1... moreThat is true, but still, MEIZU did not sold less units, it doesn't go down... Yet.

Tucking Fypo, 06 Aug 2016first time i used a htc device it was the 1st desire model ... moreI've had the S-Pen and I used it quite rarely, mostly people would borrow my phone to doodle and that was one of the reasons I switched from the Note II to the Moto G and the large size.
It sounds like Pakistan (my country of residence). HTC exited the market after M7 and has recently re-entered. What actually happened was they closed all the official warranty, sales and service channels. The phones and parts were still available just not officially serviced. Now they're back focusing much ad revenue on low-mid Desires and A9 (at an inflated price) and the 10 at iPhone pricing and carrying warranties. Motorola doesn't exist here. All their phones are imported.
I find Sony's UI too matured for my taste, although older people prefer it, I prefer it over LG and Samsung as well, not that I hate Sammy but their phones are like Toyotas mostly. No matter how luxurious or durable, they're just not fun to use on a daily basis (for me).

AnonD-255623, 06 Aug 2016I've had Moto G 2013, Moto X 2014, Note II, Xperia Z3, iPho... morefirst time i used a htc device it was the 1st desire model and also used many more htcs and i used to love it but as i said before i highly rate after sales service. the problem in my region is that htc has removed its brand service centers and replaced them with collection points so, now the time taken to repair a phone is almost 2 months. one more issue is that due to low demand of htc phones nowadays most e commerce store don't keep them in stock and are only available in brick and mortar stores so, the end result is a much more costlier device because compared to ecommerce stores( who provide cashback, some discount) the physical stores always keep a higher profit margin. this affects brands like htc and sony since last 2-3 years. i have mixed feelings about motorola. i have always loved sense ui and xperia ui but multiple reasons stop me from buying them and i don't like samsung's ui that much. so my only hope is a nexus device but then again the s-pen always makes my life easier.

Raky, 06 Aug 2016Not quite true... Meizu is selling at least 10 times more t... moremate you should also consider few more facts
                1. meizu is 13 years old, 1+ is 3 years old
                2. one plus launches only flagshipes unlike meizu whose best selling phone is m2 and m2 note which ultra low budget
                3. meizu has till date launched 20 phones whereas 1+ only 3
                4. one plus in its 3 years existence has revenue of $300million whereas meizu in its 13 years existence has $450million
last year meizu did sell 20 million phones compared to one plus who sold around a million and one plus 2 was seriously bad, but 90% meizu devices were devices like m2 and m3 kind or low end devices but one plus only sells top of the line silicon. also meizu sell even cheaper in their parent country. so after taking into consideration everything i don't see 1+ doing really bad considering it is still a 3year old startup now owned by oppo.

Tucking Fypo, 06 Aug 2016i am only a note and a nexus guy and have never bought a on... moreI've had Moto G 2013, Moto X 2014, Note II, Xperia Z3, iPhone 4s, a DROID Maxx and now I'm rocking a M8. I feel that the Moto experience is way more intuitive than any other phone I've owned. I've always wanted a Nexus but ended up steering away from them because of so many reported bugs on the LG trio and the N6 and N6P were too large for my comfort. Just today I got a friend of mine a DROID Turbo at $180 and that's pretty sweet considering the specs and construction of the phone. Among Android OEM skins, there's only SenseUI that I find truly magnificent. It's fast, responsive, easily customizable and above all very well optimized not to mention its sheer beauty, but Sense has always been well polished since its inception. Do give a HTC flagship a try if you're in the market for a handy phone. Even if you hate the phone, I'm pretty sure you'll love Sense.

They did do great job with one+'s marketing, make fame around world in short time, but in domestic market, "no one" even know who they are.
In other hand, Meizu is in top 10, 2 years ago was in top 3...but the did not do that good, since they become partially owned by MTK, and since they are using SoC made by that manufacturer.

Typical Meizu...I mean Chinese smartphone design

However I just compared a 1+X, 1+2, Meizu MX5, Xiaomi Mi4 and a Moto X Play side-by-side with my HTC M8 last weekend. The best display - Meizu (Amoled) and X Play (LCD); design - M8 and Meizu; loudspeaker - 1+2; audio over the jack - Meizu=M8 then X Play, the rest were too quiet; battery life we all know: X Play. Performance was good on all the devices, the UI didn't lag, I'm not a gamer. UI - Sense is way superior to everything else, then Moto, Oxygen then Meizu and then MiUI because of aesthetics. If Oxygen wasn't as buggy it might have had a chance.
Then comes camera and since it was a bright day: Meizu and X Play had the most detailed images, 1+2 also produced some good shots. 1+X and Mi4 were okay though I had some trouble in dynamic range but overall were okay. What I fail to understand by your fanboyism is the need to belittle to make the other thing stand out. For my usage UI smoothness and audio quality are the driving factors as well as the color reproduction of the display, so 1+ still hasn't done anything great. They're mediocre at best and that's in justification to the price tag.

Boy, you must have some good Kush. OnePlus is basically Oppo and I have yet to see them achieve something. See, OnePlus sells you compromised flagships at a discounted price, but their software is garbage (going with vanilla Android might be better now after the OxygenOS fiasco). They aren't using the best displays, but rather go for outdated screens. They aren't using good DACs, so they have weak audio output. Meizu uses extremely good DACs, on par with HTC One series. OnePlus has had average camera results through and through. Nothing spectacular but good nonetheless. So there you have it. OnePlus is all talk and hype, and nothing great.
