alcatel Tru launched by MetroPCS for just $29

15 August, 2016
The phone seems to be a rebadged version of the alcatel Pop 3 (5), first outed last year.

For me, personally, who is upgrading from a limited talk and text flip phone plan for only $5 per month less, and who never had a GPS device, this is a bonanza!

This is way more competitive than Lumia 650. If there will be custom ROMs for 6.0 and 7.0, then this is unbeatable

Also, about my plan comment, I forgot the part where you didn't have to pay extra for a plan. That gives specs-whores less of a reason to complain.

Flossy420, 15 Aug 2016Just watch as some people complain about the ram and processorPeople who complain about the specs here need to upgrade from their 2012 "flagships" already, also, finally, a below-fifty dollar phone with a 2MP instead of a VGA Front Facing Camera.

impressively low price for the specs, in my country u have to be tied to a plan from the carrier to get even close to that price (and not a really cheap plan i might say) so it's good for ppl that are looking for a back up phone or this might even be the new feature phones nowadays ^_^

Just watch as some people complain about the ram and processor

These cheap as chips Android phones are becoming a lot better than last two year's offerings, the LG Optimus D140 Fuel, LG Sunrise, LG Lucky, and the Alcatel Pixi Glits. All of which were very low-RAM offerings that didn't get refreshed with 1GB options either. This phone is very similar to the one I've seen on a TracFone tutorial preview (which usually features to-be-released handsets) called the Alcatel UNITE. I expect the Alcatel Tru to go as low as $19.00 by October and even $15.00 by Holidays. You do not even get 1GB of RAM for below fifty dollars at starting price even with two year old models.

Of course, you're probably paying for a specific data plan to keep it below fifty or sixty dollars... Still, this is a sign of how replaceable a smartphone is getting now.
