Security patches for android 6 and 5 are diffenetly different. When you update faster to latest version of android because, it's newer diffenetly it has more bugs and security holes so, it's logical that you mostly need more security patches from google and faster update than older versions.

your comment seems irrelevant with this post,
you're not even discussing about the pro 7, instead you bashed another product just because the design is borrowed by the pro 7.
ever tried the s7 edge? or at least s6?, I have to admit that the s5 sucks in terms of design, but they've make it up in the s6 and later improved into s7.
software-wise, i haven't had any lag or slow-downs for around 3 months, whatsoever (s7 edge). On the contrary, I had my friends/ usually old people that tend to mess up their smartphone, later to discover they've always click ads and download unecessary software. you can always analyze where you're lags came from anyway, just check the task manager.
it's the rule of thumb of market leaders, why should you decrease the price if your market is so large and well established, take a look of the note 7 pre-order, you can clearly conclude that samsung doesn't bother loosing markets for geeks likes us that loves best price-per-performance product, that neglects the maturity of the brand, we are still a minority.
Not to mention the aftersales, what will you do with your meizu broke down (assumed that most of us lives outside of china and imported from unauthorized dealer), when it breaks, high chances it would end up in a thrift store, or i don't know, garbage maybe

When I bought my Meizu pro5 the softwere version was Flyme 4.5 with android 5 and now it's flyme 5.1.8 with android 5.1. In past 6 monthes they released more than 12 upgrades with many fixes, security patches and new features. The only downside of Meizu is that you will not receive latest version of android like other companies fast. When I asked Meizu why they don't upgrade their flagship to android 6 they said instead of upgrading to android 6 that can add nothing more to our device (because support of fingerprint and USB C and other android 6 features was already there with flyme own android 5.1) they prefer to make a most stable and improved android 5.1 instead. At first I was very disappointed but, now after some monthes with seeing new features and bug fixes and... they add to their flyme os 5 I'm agree with them. Why you need latest buggier version when it cannot add any new features for you?

Softwere becomes so laggy and it was full of sumsung gimmicks plus I felt the design and material of m8 was much better when I saw it in my friend hand so bought m8 instead and sold my s5, then I switched to pro5 and it's as premium as m8 in terms of material, design and sound quality, and flyme os apps reminds me Htc Sense apps. Flyme os apps and UI is full of useful features copied from IOS and different android ui's (don't care meizu copied it as long as it makes user experience much better) . Camera is sony IMX 230 which you can compare it's image quality with s7, lg g5 and other new flagships, (Meizu use similar samsung algorithms for camera softwere so you can guess the quality) it has nothing less than others. So meizu know how to make a good flagship. I don't care what anybody that never even saw a meizu phone in their hands saying. I just need a great phone with less price than premium brands like samsung or apple that only charge you more for their names.
