i am saying... why a small circle when a small rectangle to match what the other person is seeing makes more sense. its not like the person on the next side of the conversion is seeing me in on a circle display. what if there is something off to the corner i didn't really want them to see? i wouldn't know for sure what they are seeing in the corners thanks to the circle preview.

The one thing i don't like about the app and i hope they change it is.......
i see my side of the conversation in a circle. How am I to know exactly all that the other person is seeing if my preview is cropped in a circle?

i have used hike, skype, imo, fb messenger and atleast half a dozen other apps and trust me guys google duo is much much better den any of dem......

              facepalm to Apple!

LG superfan, 19 Aug 2016Hows the app anyone used it?Installation is seamless..Download put your phone number in, it validates with a SMS and you're set.
I used it with a 1Mbps Wifi at a cafe and it worked fine with no interrupts. it seems that it automatically changes video quality to adjust to the internet speed. voice quality was fine.
The apps opens to full screen video with basic controls on the bottom left. next to that is the little circle that shows your side of the video (hence the Facetime thing).

Now when i was downloading the App, the store also offered a presubscription to a google messenger app Called Google Allo, this is supposed to be a Smart google messenger, think of it as a Whatsapp that offers you search results if you type certain things. Looks pretty neat. In an example there is a conversation about going to dinner at an italian restaurant and then the messenger pops search results below showing results for italian restaurants near you. whether this will be automatic (google AI reading your chat) or if you have to accept the search is still unknown.
In this new wave of encrypted chats I wonder how will google implement this auto search without killing privacy.

have been using it for the past 3 days and have to say the video quality is good even on a poor 3G network. Tried using it on 2G as well, video stuttered and then automatically switched to audio only. On 4G and Wi-Fi there were no issues at all, smooth and lag free video quality.

                  Give it a try.

Hows the app anyone used it?
