Samsung takes months to re-integrate new update with their Touchwiz. Different model have different version of Touchwiz which makes it harder and longer time to get the job done. Too much work and waiting game. So, Tizen will be their solution to fast update. They finish the software update and they release OTA update immediately without waiting. As simple as IOS.

Typhoon, 22 Aug 2016Tizen doesn't need tons of ram to run smooth..Android is junk!!you dont need running shoes for going out for a run, but it sure helps a lot. so yeah, more power instead of ending up using it all. you can also eat soup with a fork, but a spoon sure works better.

I am hopeful for Sailfish but they fail to deliver without enough support.. So we are left with just Tizen for a chance of full linux on a phone.. Still missing the days of Maemo/Meego/Harmattan..

For androi... moreI gotta admit ur Points are Compelling. hope they don't limit the USB funtiunality and they Make it work better than on the S7 edge it works but feels like Some elements are missing like MHL and the ability to work with NTFS drives. android natively lacks that ability and if the user is not Used to android it can be frustrating. tizen Can be samsungs holly grail if the dev team really thinks outside the android box they want to burst out of and if thier leaders wont mind goin to apple and microsoft to licence the different formating methods the two have and make thier TIZEN a true alternative to googles android. those are just Some of the things Samsung Can do Who knows Maybe in a few years from now we Will see an galaxy note running tizen ^_^

Samsung has it easy is smooching off Google/Android...They need to ditch Android for its own OS and prove it can create its own ecosystem with out using Google as a crutch..

For android apps there is android samsung phones available.Tizen should have their own apps. See what happened to BlackBerry!!. Tizen is a competition for IOS not for android. There are two OS to try,they are Tizen and Sailfish OS. I am so excited to see this news. Just imagine a S7 edge running Tizen OS with a tightly integrated touchwiz services in it. For a regular user We won't be missing much from a S7 android....

finally something to focus on other than android and ios. hope they can manage to port android apps over to tizen and with capable hardware that wont be mediocre I'll be jumping on the tizen band wagon and finally dump all my android devices for good.
