Samsung should buy AMD then make server processors. Intel Xeon needs a competition.

This means Samsung's 14nm fab is running at high gain that they can allocate some capacity to produce cheap chips. I guess S8 will use 12 or 10 nm.

I said that this chip, Exynos 7570(?), us probably going to be lower clocked, and have a weaker GPU, so it will probably will still ve slower than the chips if competition(especially Kirin with thier 6XX chip).

Anonymous, 30 Aug 2016that's 16 nm...That is the equivalent of Samsung's 14nm. Remember A9 SoC in iphone 6s & 6s+. It had 2 versions - one manufactured by Samsung on 14nm and the other manufactured by TSMC on 16nm. So Kirin 650 is an equivalent comparison on process node.

However as another person pointed out, Kirin 650 is octa-core and this SoC Exynos 7570 from Samsung is quad-core. So that is not a fair comparison in terms of performance.

AnonD-446067, 30 Aug 201614nm is not amazing at all since it will probably be clocke... moreWell since Kirin 650 is a octa-core and 7570 is quad-core, I really doubt the Exynos can be faster as a whole. Maybe the 14LPP process allows better single core performance than 28HPM/HPC (if it's clocked faster and/or has a bigger cache), but I don't think that's Samsung main goal with this chipset.

I believe Sammy is aiming at small SoCs with very high yield.

i can go and say my wish list, like notification led, ip rating, 5000 battery, 32 gb storage at least, capacitive offscreen navigation buttons etc... but thats what i could live without...

and considering firstly stated specs will be for a phone almost free with carrier contract, its going to sell like a icecream on summertime.. 5 inch, maybe perfect size balance, and 3000 mah on amoled, 14nm quad will last three days, and still going to be enough powerfull as a daily driver for a majority of people

Copying what? Samsung makes everything inside your phones. K9 Thunder tank, Burj Khalifa, their own amusement park, their own city, military division, TV, appliances, makes SoC, memory, displays, and DRAM. Samsung is everywhere including any appliance or electronic device you use.

Samsung is a bigger conglomerate than Sony. But you did not know that, did you?
